Battery life on the Motorola Cliq

Is there an application and/or setting that needs to be turned off so the battery life doesn't run out so fast?

Adobe evangelist Ryan Stewart has taunted us before and he is back again with a new YouTube video. In his latest upload, Ryan is showing off the latest version of Flash 10.1 on his Nexus One. Adobe gave all their employees Android phones and we recently learned that Flash 10.1 is tied to the release of FroYo (Android 2.2).

It appears Mr. Stewart is one of the lucky few to be running Android 2.2 on his Nexus One. At the tail end of the video (around 6:30 mark) we get a quick glimpse of his home screen. New desktop elements include an updated launcher, Android tutorial, and new global search box...

update out for the cliq.

Motorola has released a update for the cliq. it's not 1.6 or 2.0 it is supposed to help the screen, bluetooth and battery. if you don't want to wait for the ota push go to settings-about phone-system updates and it is there. i have only had it for a couple hours and have noticed the screen is a little better but it will take some time before i can see if the battery is better.

What are the 3 items on top

On the cliq there are three holes in the top next to the notification light easiest seen in the sunlight. Wondering if anyone knows what they are and their purpose? Thanks

Unable to add a social network account - anyone have experience?

My Cliq won't allow a Facebook account to be added to the list of accounts. It produces an error saying that it can't add the account at this time or words to that effect. It also won't allow Picasa, same problem.

I can use Facebook as an independent application from the home screen, but it won't do what the Cliq is supposed to do and combine all social apps into one area.

Has anyone experienced this problem?

Thanks

Going from G1 to CLIQ.. Any advice?

Hello,

I currently have the G1 but am waiting to receive my CLIQ in the mail. I hear it is fairly straight forward as far as setup but I am sure it will take some time.

Does anyone have any advice for making sure I don't lose data?

Thanks!

Cliq Battery Life

Although I like the Cliq's features, it has some quirks that concern me, most notably the battery life.

Even after shutting off some applications and self-updating feeds, it seems to last only about 8 hours with very little use. I installed the battery/screen update but after a day it hasn't seemed to make any significant difference. I think any phone should give 24 hours minimum between charges or it just isn't useful.

If anyone has any suggestions as to how to get a bit better battery life I would surely like to hear them.

Thanks.

disappearing phone #'s? Help?

I got the cliq 2 months ago, already exchanged 1 for the same issue. When I try to save a number to existing contact it saves, but when i go back into the contact later it is no longer there? Is this a common motoblur issue or am i doing something wrong?

The Moto Cliq

I purchased this phone atfter returning the mytouch. I didn't like that phone, but from the moment that I got this phone out of the box I feel in Love with it. I was a blackberry queen , but I think that I have changed I love the fact that you can multitask with this phone alot of phones don't allow that it great. 😁

MotoCliq

I have the privelegde of owning the phone before it comes out. I come from the G1 and Most Recently the MyTouch. I have to say that this phone so far is awesome. Advantages over the MyTouch is the Blur (software) and the physical keyboard. If you have a facebook twitter or myspace and use them freqently this phone is a must have.. I was a little worried at first being motorola and all but it has put all my worries to rest. Runs faster has more screens, a little less memory then the mytouch but overall a better phone. Android is only going to get better. Questions ultimatealdin@yahoo.com

You can pick up this beauty at T-Mobile locations Around Nov 2nd for msrp $200 2-yr.

I have the Cliq and it is awsome!

I just got it on Friday and can already tell you that I was using an iphone before this phone. There are some things I like about both but the whole aspect of being able to customize this phone fully to my liking is what it has on the competition. I can tell you right now I am a big fan of the Iphone.

Pros:
- widgets, widgets, widgets
- ability to turn off wireless connections without having to go into a couple of different menu's (that may fall under the widgets again.)
- full keyboard and ability to set keys as shortcuts
- 5 mega camera (same as Motozine, its really good)
- works well as a camcorder as well
- Battery life not as good as BlackBerry but very good for android phone
- Motoblur works very well. The whole combin...

over in the "Review: Motorola CLIQ" discussion:

Works fine for me!

I agree with most of the people on this topic. I think the reviewer got a hold of a bad one.
I have had this device for about a week now and I cannot complain about much. I live in a 3G area and have not experienced any of the switching between EDGE and 3G as frequently as reviewed.

The battery life is way better than the G1 or the MyTouch. 🙂

As far as the lag goes, none really. I have loaded over 50 apps on the phone and it still runs smoothly. Even when the phone is multi-tasking, I have no real issues. I can listen to music, browse the web (multiple pages), send and receive messages, and run other apps in the background, without a problem.

If you don't like the happenings widgets on one screen, then move them ar...
