TP2 and WinMo 6.5?

The press says that WinMo 6.5 will be released on Oct 6th. Anyone have any info as to when the TP2 will be available with WinMo 6.5, out of the box?

Other reatailers of software

The review did not mention that are at least 3 major on-line retail stores that sell software compatible with the TP2 and WM 6.1.

They are www.mobihand.com, www.handango.com, and www.smartphone.net and they have thousands of applications available for purchase.

It is disappointing that Microsoft has chosen to go down the path of forcing developers to pay them to provide a retail source of the developer's applications. It will be interesting to see what additional benefits Microsoft's Marketplace for Windows Mobile will offer developers to justify the fee for posting software on the site.

Since there is no fee at the above sites, why would one choose to post on MS's site?

Just my two cents...

Rob.

In Verizon Stores?

Just wondering if anyone knows when this phone will be available in the stores? I hear some folks saying they have them. I stopped in two Verizon stores (Union NJ, Westfield NJ) and the sales help did not even know about the phone. Called 800 Verizon to ask when they will be shipped to stores and they said they did not know, but normally a week after released on the web. Anyone know when they will be shipped, or the best way to get my hands on one? Thanks.

Batt Life and Heat Output??

My big 2 questions I have on this new model is how is the real world battery life with the standard battery? Also does it get hot while in use?

The prior Touch Pro had bad batt life and got very hot while i talked. I went with the Omnia after that. Now deciding to go with Pro 2 or Omnia 2

Incorrect Info: GPS

Hey guys. Might want to change your info on this phone. the VZW version has a standalone GPS, not a-GPS, per the manual and HTC.

Price??? what are you talking about

For those who complain about the price let me tell you that for all the features that this phone has its really worth the price. Lucky if you get it for a lower price, but please dont cry about it

So if you dont like it, its better that you wait for the Nokia N900 or an Android phone

How does the still camera handle movement?

Is there a lot less blur when snapping pictures of moving objects?

The first gen' iPhone does a much better job than my Touch Pro when it comes to getting something in focus when taking pictures of moving objects. I'm not sure if it's just a shutter speed thing (I haven't tried burst or sports mode on my TP) or if it has to do with the camera's focus.

Thanks.

Did you miss the hard keys and D-pad?

I use a AT&T, the grandparent of the TP2. I like the D-pad and the other hard keys for navigating while driving (usually music and GPS).

Without them, how did manage?

Sync problems

Has anyone had any problems setting up ActiveSync with their TP2? This is not my first windows phone and previously setting up ActiveSync with my old phone was very easy. Now with my TP2, it will not recognize the phone. Any suggestions? Thanks!

for this phone the windows 6.5 would be ideal

I am thinking of getting one but the only thing holding me back is for one the lack of Flash which after having one on my TP makes it almost a necessity. And secondly I am hearing rumors of a HTC Leo. I have had HTC (every US GSM version) and Iphones. But for IT work and other business related a keypad and windows is a must. I will probably pick this phone up but if you are technically into smartphones (pocekt PC's) you expect size.

So is PhoneScoop going to do a review?

I've been waiting since the T-mobile version was released, but they still haven't done one. Would be nice to know if they are or not so I don't have to wait to know whats going on. 😕
