A530 ringer volume

Like most reviews, I like the phone. The problem is that even with the vibrate on and on loudest ring mode, I can't hear it ringing. Is there a way to make it ring louder?
can it be all so simple

Not connecting/hearing phone calls?

Originally i just thought i wasnt connecting, but recently figured out when i dial and hear nothing, no ring or anything, the other person is receiving the call, and not hearing anything from me.

Anyone else have this problem? It seems to me this phone is terrible. I've read a ton of bad reviews, and I'm starting to regret buying it.

No longer available?

I have been going nuts trying to figure out which phone to upgrade to based on features I would like. I currently have a LG VX10 and have been considering the LG VX4500 or LG VX4600 (which I may not be able to get). I looked at the Audiovox CDM-8600 but decided against it. Finally after reading about the Samsung SCH-A530 I decided that it is the phone for me.

I can't upgrade untill September 10 but I went in to the Verizon store just to check out the phone in person and it wasn't there. When I asked about it I was told that it is no longer offered (even though it is still listed on their website. Has anyone else heard about it being discontinued or anything?

I went to Samsung's website and it is still listed there. I really haven...

caller id question.

I recently had an LG VX10 for the past year and few months. Well something happened and I havent had signal for two weeks now. I took to verizon and they told me it got wet, my dad took it and they said for 53 dollars they would replace with the same phone. Well considering its discontinued they cant quite do that. So we all just said forget ANY-as I ramble some more.

My question:
With LG VX10, when you put someones number in the phonebook, and they called, their name came up. And when a name wasnt in the phone book, just a number came up. It camp up on the outside screen when the phone was close and as well as on the inside screen when its open, now does the Samsung SCH-A530 do this?

This is the last thing that is holding me back fr...

External LCD.

Can you customize the external LCD? Also, when someone is calling you, does it show you a picture/icon next to the name; if so, can you change that?

Outlook Sync

Does anyone know if this phone is capable of syncing its CALENDAR feature with Outlook's? I am not as concerned with phone #s as I am with scheduled events and alarms. I had the T720 and was syncing with Motorola Starfish cable but that phone was too awful to keep. I am back on my Startac and trying to find the smallist phone that will keep my schedule from Outlook.

No Caller ID!

I have a new a530. I noticed the caller ID, which is one of the most basic expected functions of a cell phone didn't seem to be working. I called Verizon and the lady said that the local number I got doesn't support caller ID. I live in the small town of Socorro, New Mexico. The lady said I could get an Albuquerque number with caller ID, but I intentionally chose verizon because they could give me a local number. I live on a university campus and we can't make long distance calls from home without using a calling card and I wanted it to be easy and free for my wife to call my cell. How could it be that people with Albuquerque numbers have caller id and it still works when they come to Socorro, but I can't have it just because I live he...

Screening the calls.

Does anyone know what the deal is w/ screen the calls? How long of a message can it hold? I asked a Verizon rep 2 to be exact and they did not even know that the phone had screening. I had to show them. I would be nice if it had a speaker phone.

new A530s

I saw this phone on ebay it's the a530 but has silver housing! I'm glad they came out with a silver version . That champagne gold color seemed to be the only draw back of the a530.

Samsung SCH-A530

Does anyone have any input? We are thinking about changing to Verizon from Sprint. The A530 seems to get excellent reviews, but I'm a little concerned about not having analog availability. Has anyone had any coverage problems in any areas of the country? Sounds like Verizon is more than 90% digital, and will be 100% in a few years. Any input would be appreciated.
