Flash Lite

Does the Palm Pre Web OS support Adobe Flash? If not, are there any ideas when this will come? Thanks

Pre feature questions...

I have some questions about the Palm Pre if anyone can assist.

Does the Pre now have text forwarding?

Can you group text?

Can you play movies or video in quick time format. For example, can I convert a dvd to watch on the pre?

Has the battery life improved with the updated OS?

How difficult is it to homebrew the phone? What types of things does it open the phone to?

Any help would be great. trying to decide between pre and and Android phone like the Moment or Hero.

Push vs. Pull for 5 - 10 emails a day

I currently have my email set to pull with it checking the server every one hour. If I only receive 5 - 10 emails a day (if that), would having my email pushed save battery?

I can't understand the negative reviews

Seriously, one person said "this phone overheats" and gave it a bad rating. Others love the screen, but don't like the fact it cannot record video...yet, so they give it zero or one star.

Having used iPhones, BlackBerries, and Nokias, the Pre beats all of them easily, and it has a platform that will only make it better.

More folks need to step up and give this great phone a great review. I am going to do my part right now.

Palm Pre or HTC Hero?

What would be better, the Palm Pre running webOS or the HTC Hero running Android, that is rumored to be released through Sprint later this year?

How long does the battery life actually last?

Everyone just says the battery life is short but like I had the HTC Touch and Mogul and I would have to recharge every night. Is it shorter than a full days worth? I'm also in pretty decent coverage area (with the exception of my school) so the switching between evdo and 1x doesn't happen often.

Some minor annoyances

1. Programs take 5 - 7 seconds to load
2. Accelerometer stopped working, had to do a battery pull (a la Blackberry) to get it started again
3. Some system sounds stop playing (like the one when you close a card)

All these are software related, and hopefully will be fixed with the next OS update.

What I thought of the Pre. ?NO? WMA support?!!!?

So I got a chance to check out someone's Pre at my work, I can say it feels very solid.

I was just looking at it's specs, both music & ringtones support MP3
!BUT! ?NOT? WMA, what the heck is the deal with that?!!!?

And I noticed the batteries capacity is only 1150mAh, it would be nice if it was more like 1500mAh.

And I noticed in the bluetooth doesn't support object push (OPP).

So what are all your thoughts about the Pre?

Palm Pre on SERO Website!!!

As of late last week the Palm Pre appeared on the SERO website. I was wondering if anyone who currently has the SERO F&F 500 plan for $30/month has upgraded to the Everything Plus 500 plan for $59.99 on the SERO website? They give you 2 options:

1. You can purchase the phone on your existing account - sprint asks you to enter your phone number into the website and then you can upgrade your phone. It immediately tells you that your plan will not work for the phone and it is essential to upgrade to a new plan (one of which is the $59.99 everything plus plan). However, Sprint does not allow you to do this on the website - I am assuming they make you call them upon receiving the phone in the mail. Does anyone know if it is possible to j...

SERO plan

Is there any workaround to not change plans if I buy and activate a new PRE?

I'd prefer not to have to renew my contract, but if so I don't want to change plans.

Anyone have success of just swapping ESN's but keeping a current "unqualified" plan?

I don't want an "everything" plan I just want the phone.

Reboot??

How often do you need to do a battery pull to reset the phone? On my storm I need to do one at least once a day due to low memory.

Also is a fix in the works for the weak battery and not bein able to use yahoo messenger?

Pre & Outlook (no Exhange Server)

Does anyone have their Pre synced to Outlook without an Exchange Server and no third party software being used?
If so, do you use Active Sync or something else?

PalmOS emulator and apps:

So I have a question. I currently have the centro and I use lightspeed to either save battery when I need it, or when I use pda net, LJP, and other apps, to make them much more fluid. If I DL the palm classic emu. for the pre, will those programs still function? or will I have to wait for PDA net to have a direct app for the pre?

Palm's next updates for the Pre (continued for copy and paste thread)

Copying and pasting to forward a text message is just one of the things that is on the top of Palm's To-Do list. I spoke with the Palm representitive a few days ago and he said that Palm is aware of users that want to use this feature and they will add it shortly, along with being able to use voice dialing, forwarding text messages to multiple users, and updating the software so the video camera is functionable. The video camera is already built in but the software wasn't compatible when they released it for some reason. No worries! I expect a fix soon.

Oh and make sure you have downloaded version 1.0.4 for the Pre. It fixed a few battery drain issues and some other small bugs.
