Found fix to resolve slow Storm speed and response time!!!

I am finally starting to appreciate the Storm more after playing with some setting adjustments to increase the response time for clicking, typing, and scrolling.

Steps:

1) Go to Options menu.
2) Go to Screen/Keyboard
3) Set "Tap Interval" to 100
4) Set "Swipe Sensitivity" to High 6
5) Save

You will now have a much better experience with the Storm. My only concern is it may drain battery life a little more, but thats just a theory I have yet to prove. However, better response is worth sacrificing some battery life, since batt life is already very impressive.

Enjoy!

BB Storm Not here where I am

I am not bashing people who got one of these phones. But I will say I am jelous of you who could sell them to people we didn't even get ours to sell yet. Just today I had someone who wanted to buy 2 of them grrr 👿. But as far as lag or any other issues it like everything else that gets released. Example X360, WII and PS3 they all had there issues when the came out. So phones makers have the same issue. Give it 6 months and I bet this phone will make you all drool

Storm or Bold

I've been hearing mixed reviews about the Storm but I hear only superb things about the Bold. Which is the better phone? I heard there was some software issues with the Storm. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Problems with Storm on Verizon. What about Vodaphone?

We all know how we have an older OS of the staor and how Verizon plans to have updates avail in 2 weeks. Does anyone know what the feedback is on the Vodaphone version of the Storm released last week? Are they having the same issues? What OS version are they on?

Free OTA Software update for the Storm is due in 1-2 weeks

According to rim in a few weeks a free OTA software upgrade that is said to address performance, speed, and reliability of the OS is set to come out.

those not happy with the performance now should wait for that upgrade and hopefully it will be much better.

typing help

So I got the Storm today and I don't know if got a bad phone but the interface and responsiveness is horrible. There are a lot of delays and it's difficult to navigate through various websites. It's definitely not as nice and responsive as my friend's iPhone.

Anyway my biggest issue is typing emails. After I have typed a sentence or two, I sometimes need to go back and change a word. However I can't get it to go back to a specific word. There doesn't seem to be any arrow keys to go back (only backspace\delete key). Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong or how I can go back and change a word?

Thanks.

Going back to the curve for now.

After just a day with the Storm I am so sad to say I will be returning it.

I have two lines, a personal AT&T line and a business VZW line. I have an iPhone 3G on the AT&T line and a Curve on the VZW line.

After just a day with the Storm I already miss my Curve. I had thought that the Storm might bridge the gap between the Curve and the iPhone and I could start carrying only one device. The sad truth is that it is not as good a Blackberry as my Curve (nowhere near the quality of my business partners Blackberry Bold) and pales compared to my iPhone as a user friendly multi-media device. I would rather stick to two great task oriented devices than one that sort does everything but does nothing as well as it could.

If anything, my iPh...

GO WITH THE BOLD

The BIG TWO:

1. Send/Recieve email or surf the net while on a conference call.

2. WIFI (free AT&T wifi)

Using Contact to Dial

Every pre-Storm BB allowed you to type the name of a contact from the "phone" screen in order to find and immediately use the phone number. From the phone screen, the Storm requires you to press the Contacts icon and enter the relevant contact's name. Problem is (at least on my Storm) you can't get a landscape view from the phone screen, so you can't get to the qwerty keyboard. That leaves you trying to enter a name using Suretype--doesn't work unless the name is green or steel--something the dictionary recognizes. Could RIM possibly have designed the phone without being able to type in a name from the basic phone screen to get a phone number? Is my phone/software not functioning properly?

Better luck next time RIM

I had high hopes but now all I can hope is that RIM fixes this seriously deficient phone.

There are things I like. I like how the click screen prevents me from accidently hitting links when enlarging wep pages. I love the screen transitions. I love the big colorful screen. I even like the new menus.

The problem is that the phone is just not up to par when it comes to software and I do not think the click screen will hold up.

The software is slow, buggy, and unpredictable. If I have to see that darn spinning clock anymore I am going to throw this thing out the window. It also freezes up ever hour or so.

The screen itself is clever but not that great for use. It slows my typing down considerably and is already getting lint lodges ...

Why are you making excuses?

The review of this phone shows you what your getting. We are reviewing the phone and not the network. Why are verizon people saying "of course the phone will have bugs" "oh the network is so much better". Bottom line is that we are discussing the PHONE... Not the network...

If you claim that your phone works everywhere... your an idiot. If you claim that your network is better, your an idiot...

Find a network that works for you in your area and the places you go. Then go and get a phone that you like on that network. Anyone that switches carriers to get the latest phone deserves to have their calls dropped.

How many touch screen blackberry phones are there? Lets be honest... touchscreen is not a feature... it is just a "cool" fa...
