The worst part about this phone...

The worst part about this phone is that it will most likely sell really well on Verizon. Then more companies will make crappy detachable phones like this. next thing we know Nyko will make a keyboard attachment for the iPhone. This is the beginning of the end.

Versa Ringer

When the phone rings does it ascend? just checking because i have gotten rid of 2 samsung phones and an lg because it starts off low and gets louder, but takes too long to do get loud. Since im on call where i work i need to be able to hear it ring at 2am in a dead sleep. I realize that some cell phone companies are putting it on their to save ears from being blown out, but why not let the user change it...have it be an option, not a reason for some customers to bring their phones back

DUMB

LG should be slapped and verizon should be kicked for allowing this silliness to the market! even the reviewer could not help but comment on how awkward holding this retarded phone will be...and snapping it on and off like that, oh yeah that's going to hold up, NOT! We've a plethora of stupid touch screens, God how I hate them- enough already! Make some decent phones! Ever carrier has a better messaging phone than verizon, ugg ☚ī¸

As long as the telcos pay for the equipment.....

.....it will not have WiFi.

Think about it. The phone company is subsidizing the price of the phone big-time. Are they going to give you the ability to get free Internet and make free VOIP calls?

Of course not. Devices like this are heavily discounted so you'll get one and get a data plan, pay for voice calls and pay for International Roaming.

By the way, even though this is a CDMA device, It still works in 44 countries, including:

Canada
Mexico
Japan
China
India

And just about every Carribean country. So it's not accurate to say it doesn't work overseas. Yes, it doesn't work in Europe, but there are many places it will.

I wonder....

How long before it takes for customers to pile back into the stores because they lost their detachable keyboard? 😕

What beast is powering this?

It looks a lot smoother than the Dare in operation. It must have a decent set of hardware inside. I keep hearing Flash Lite support on this phone. Could this be? Is it fast enough it can do that?

Skeptical

The fact that this phone has a add-on keyboard doesn't call my attention so much. I'd rather have a phone with built-in keyboard like voyager or env2.

Also full html? will it have java and flash? i don't think so which is a cons against these phones.

But I guess we'll wait and see to redeem my NE2 and hopefully that rule of having to pay for VCast like it or not like with the PDA/Smartphone doesn't come on effect any time soon.

Seriously - who cares?

I'm sure it will be full of Verizon's crappy nickel and dime software and non-customizable options which is why I won't buy another Verizon phone. I switched to a smartphone and couldn't be happier (esp with the options and software available).

What's with all these cheesy teenager phones being released these days anyway?

Another article, more detail

http://www.smartbrief.com/news/aaaa/industryPR-detai ... »
covers more features of the phone, and at least here it's not blocked by the corporate firewall 😁

video formats

One thing making me want one (as an upgrade from nothing, I don't currently have a cell phone) is support for playing back mp4's and wmv's along with m4a audio.

Haven't been able to find anything about resolution restrictions, or whether it requires specific encoding options though...
