Samsung Rant M540

Hi, my Samsung Rant is displaying the message "memory card not present" when i insert it.

What could be the problem?

What address do I use to send pictures successfully from my email to my Spring Rant? 😡 😢

My one year upgrade is coming up, and I really like this phone. I have an Samsung M520, and this would be a really nice upgrade from that, because of the texting keyboard. Anyway, Can I use Facebook, or Myspace on the Samsung Rant?

Has anyone found an aftermarket browser that works well with the Rant? 😕

Does anyone know if Pandora can be loaded on a Samsung Rant?

Seems like the Rant has a weak charging port (touchy, stops charging when the cord is touched). Seems to be loose and wiggle when plugged in. I send it out to Samsung to get fixed only to find out that they will not fix it under warranty because of user damage. Anyone else have this issue?

I'm looking into alternative web browsers for the Rant. Has anyone heard of Teashark Alpha? The download page said, "To install TeaShark Alpha, your phone must be able to support Java MIDP 2.0. Please consult your phone manufacturer to check if your phone supports Java MIDP 2.0."

I contacted Samsung and after deciphering the Indian accent was told "Samsung doesn't support Java, call your service provider."

I know my phone supports Java, but does anyone know if it supports Java MIDP 2.0?

Is there a way to specify the location for the calendar data? I've run into the problem of not having enough space for more events, even though I have an 8Gb mSD card.

Is the phone capable of syncing calendar events from outlook straight into the phone?
I heard its possible through google's online calendar but that would require connecting to the internet.

I am looking to ditch my htc touch pro for a an actual PHONE and not a mini laptop. that touch pro is really cool but when it comes to using it as a phone its not the greatest.

I just need a PHONE that allows me to check a couple thigns online and organize my calendar, with the help of outlook.

i was surfing the internet nd it froze and i tried gettign otu of it but it wouldnt let me so i took out the battery and tried turning it back on after i put it back now it frezzes on the loading screen and wont turn back on ... help!! ☹️

I have been able to upload some short mp3's on the phone that I wanted to use as ringtones. Does anyone know if this is possible and how I would do it? Thanks for the help.

Hello, I just got a Sam sung M540 from Telus and I have some questions about how it works. I have the knowledge of a 1 year old when it comes to babies, no scratch that, some even understand it more than I do. Please be simple because I do wish to solve my problems. 🙂 Thanks!

1. Is there's a way to block internet usage from the phone. I don't have it covered on my plan and I do not want to pay extra by accidentally clicking something. I noticed that sometimes I click on some part of the menu and it goes into this world thing moving around - that's the same as going online, isn't it?! Also, how does the logo for online looks like on the top of the screen?!

2. how can I transfer ring tones/Backgrounds from my computer to the ring to...

I have had my Rant for several months (actually I have only had my current Rant for a little over a month). My problems have always been that I only receive about 50% of my incoming calls, eventually the call goes to voicemail, I never receive a missed call notification, and then an hour or two later, I receive notification for a new voicemail. Also, I quite often, not always, have a couple hour delay in receiving texts. I have had several conversations with tech support and in store staff. We have reprogrammed the phone, done hard resets, soft resets, and then eventually replaced the phone. Only issue is, the problems did not go away with the new phone.

steps writen using Vista, Rant had upgraded firmware, i was drinking orange juice. your experience may varry...

How To Set MP3s as Ringers for Samsung Rant:
1.) find an mp3. download WavePad, install. download Pazera video to 3GP (be sure you have the right one, there are like a dozen different pazera applications), extract to a folder of the same name.

2.) open WavePad and drag the song into it. you can drag your mouse on the graph to select sections of the song to copy or delete. you want the ringer to begin at a part that is attention getting and not all songs begin that way. also, anything longer than 30 seconds is probably wasted space.

3.) File > Save As > choose MP3 as extention, NOT WAV. go to that mp3 file's fold...

Wow samsung u did it again. but this time u copied ur own fone the R450 and the model numbers are the same instead of an R u have an M but u still have these numbers 4,5,0. why cant samsung think of any thing origanal any more. i mean seriosly metro gets it in blck(r450) and criket gets it in green and blue. y cant we get (metro users) cool colors like red in your samsung fones. u guys SUCK!!!!!!!!! and i also own the R450

My Sprint Samsung Rant connects to my bluetooth car kit, but the car kit phone book only displays "----" for my phone contacts.

Do anybody know of a way to change the contact file that is transferred to a bluetooth car kit or any method to help with this.

Just got the rant, great phone so far, but i use to get free ringers/games from funformobile.com or myxer.com which allow you to make your own ringtone, but for some reason i can't download from these sites to the rant it only downloads the purchased ones from sprint... anybody know any other way?

I love this new phone. 🙂 Does everything I expected it to and then some.
However. I am having a prollem with the keys not locking dast enough. I have gone thru the book several times and can't find anything about how to MANUALLY lock the keys faster than letting the phone do it itself...
Does anybody know of a shortcut to lock the keys faster???

After having my Rant for the last several month I must say I am still impressed every time I use it or even pick the phone up.
Excellent quality all around.

The problem I have is the auto screen lock that forces you to hit * then Back to get out of it once it auto engages.

Anybody find a work around for this, a way to extend time, or at least a way to change to a single key unlock?

Other than that the Rant still is all that!
