Can you upload your own songs onto the Chocolate??

I am considering purchasing the new chocolate, I just have 1 question that I can't find the answer to. I know the phone comes with rhapsody, but I don't want to pay $15/month to subscribe. Does anyone know if you can sync your existing playlist on your pc (say iTunes), or even individual mp3 files to this phone??

Too LOUD!!!

😢

I just got the Chocolate 3 two days ago. I don't know if I got a defective phone or not, but it's too loud! If I put it on the lowest volume, it's still louder than the highest volume on my last LG! (This was the LG VX8100). I kept that phone on the lowest volume and it was fine. Everytime my new phone rings, it scares me because it is so loud! Is it me, or my phone? ☹️

Installing games?

Anybody know how to manually install games to this phone? I don't think you can with bitpim. Its a rip off now that verizon made you switch to nationwide plan to get this phone and you get charged for data just to do anything.

Same as 8600?

This phone looks essentially the same as the LG8600. Same shiny outside. Same metal banding. Is it the same?

little annoyance with outside screen lock

When I want to check the time on the outside screen I press the center button to turn the screen on but then the little popup that says "Press to Unlock" blocks the time for about a second. That gets really annoying after a while.

Is there a way around is that I'm not thinking of? Or is this not a problem for other people?

Converting .3g2 vids to other formats

So, on my VX8600 I used to be able to use the freeware, Super, to convert vids to .avi's. I really like the new larger sized vids on the VX8560 (infact, would be cool if we could get them even larger on future phones.. hint, hint)... but I've been unable to convert my vid successfully. I can get the video, but I can't get the audio coverted right.

Has anyone else converted their 8560 vids? What program do you use to do it?

Trouble with BitPim on the Chocolate 3

I got the Chocolate 3 Last week and downloaded the new BitPim the other day. Whenever I plug my phone in it says "found other CDMA phone" but not mine! When I manually select the phone it fails.
Anyone else having similar difficulties? What can I do to get it to detect my phone?
I'm starting to think that it is my phone and that there is a setting that I need to change. Help me out, thanks.

Annoying feature to me at least

When using the scroll wheel to browse thru songs, when you get to a different letter it will only go to the first song of that letter then jump to the next letter. Say I am on orgy but have multiple songs from them it will only go on the first song then skip to the next letter. Also it will display a big portrait of the letter you are on blocking the entire song itself. Any way to turn that portrait off and make browsing easier?

Lock feature on the # key

On all of my old LG phones including my current one the 8300 i have been able to lock my keypad by pushing down the # key and holding it for 2 seconds. (i have a girlfriend that likes to visit my phone when i'm not looking) And all i have to do is punch in my 4 digit unlock code to use phone....on the Chocolate 3 phone the # key doesnt have that feature anylonger. How can you lock the keypad so phone cant be used? And what is the keypad lock for on side of phone? If all you have to do is hit that button to unlock phone anyone can use your phone.....am i missing something??

Using Email2 to store contact addresses?

The charging port on my 8600 broke out. Lucky for me, I am NE2 eligible in 5 days.

Considering between env2 & choc 3. I played with both in the store, and neither seem to allow me to enter a text note into the Email2 contacts field. It seems they have placed an edit on this field to be in email address format.

This was a disappointment to me. Does anyone know of a way to hack/remove this Email2 validation check?

Can BitPim be used to place an address into the Email2 contacts field?--it would be great if someone could test this for me as I am unable to do so without owning the phone.

Thanks for the assistance!

Message vibrate on silent

On my old VX8700 I used to be able to keep my text message alert set to "No Ring" and Vibrate "Off" and when I turned the phone to "Vibrate Only" my text messages would come in silent and with no vibration.

On my new Chocolate 3, when I turn the phone to "Vibrate Only" text messages still come in silent, but with vibration. Does anyone know if I can get rid of the vibration?

Transfering Phonebook via Bluetooth

Has anyone else had difficulty transferring their phonebook or individual phone entries to a bluetooth device? I tried to transfer my contacts to my car via bluetooth but when I tell the phone to transfer the contact, it tells me that I need to disconnect from the current bluetooth device (my car) first, which makes no sense because that's where I'm trying to transfer it. If I follow along and disconnect first, then it attempts to send it but my car can't receive it because it's not connected.

over in the "Review: LG Chocolate 3" discussion:

This won't do

I was one of the first people to buy the original chocolate. There was something about it that just felt ahead of the curve. The interface, the touch screen, the music management and playback. It was all fairly new in the phone market.

Going to a claimshell and removing touch screen is the wrong thing to do. Now it just looks like any other phone. If I want a slimmer phone I'll get a razor. What's so special about it now?

There are phones out there with touch screens and easy to type on keyboards that flip out. I was expecting chocolate to take the next leap to iphone type functionality. Instead it went backwards in terms of taking risks and pushing design.

Anyone else agree?

FM transmitter on Chocolate 3

Can you actually listen to the radio with this phone? Or is the transmitter used exclusively to broadcast music to a radio station of your choosing?

Thanks!
