What could be the hold up?

I work in the phone industry for a semi conductor company that supplies a phone manufacuter that shall remain nameless. I find it extremely hard to believe that they don't know when the phone will be out if it truly is a SW bug they are encountering. If they haven't fixed the bug, then there is no way in hell they could release it next week. It takes longer than a week JUST to flash the new SW onto all the production phones. I know because we released a Firmware update to the customer, and it has taken them months to implement it into all their production lines. Granted they are making Millions of phones and i'm not sure how many curves are to be released intially. Point being, that if they haven't announced a date, either A. it means th...

the 6/1 Date is for the red Curve from Sprint

as far as my resources go, and they are good, there is nothing showing for the grey curve as far as the 5/4 or 5/7 dates go, but for the red curve it shows 6/1.

So annoyed -- now they are saying 6/1

Ugh, I just called Telesales because the May 4th and/or May 7th date seemed too good to be true. While I was on the phone with this lady, she specifically said, "We haven't been given a specific date, however, it does say here sometime in June."

GRRRRRRRRRRR! 🤭

Does Sprint usually anounce releases beforehand??

I've heard dates from people ranging from mid April to the end of June. I've never been in this situation (waiting on a release of a phone) before, and I was wondering, does sprint usually anounce a date or do they just release the phone and put it on their web site that same day? As of now, sprint has NOTHING on there, and I signed up for the Curve newsletter and I have yet to recieve anything either.

VZW Curve Price

I was just curious what everyone was paying for the Curve. It seems like a dumb question, but I think I received an unbelievably good deal. See below

According to the rep the price of the Curve is as follows:

No contract: $439.99
With 2yr contract: $319.99

My total cost: $181.89...plus I am receiving a $50 mail-in-rebate which would actually make the total price $131.89

Discounts received: $50 (New every 2)

I also inquired about the option of the Advance Phone Credit discount that is available on PDAs, Smartphones, and Blackberries of either $50 or $100 (depending on your plan). However, the rep stated that this was not an option for the Curve.

It is my personal opinion that an error was made in my favor, but I thought I w...

New Post On Verizon

Verizon certainly seems to be getting close to releasing this. I was on Verizon website and did a search under 8330 and found a couple of entries on features of the Curve and how to adjust them. Not a release date, but close. Just as always Sales&Marketing have the final say on the release, but definitely a very welcome sign. Now the best overall network has one of the best phones for business/email users. Now just have to find out where or not it has the GPS chip in it and if there is software to utilize it. VZNavigator is certainly very useful and unique, but no replacement for GPS.

Interesting Feature...Works On Curve Too

Just a little thing I found out today that was a pleasant surprise. It's not earth shattering but certainly helpful for someone who runs sales appointments in homes all day long and has to field a lot of calls while running VZ Navigator. I have the VX8700. I was using my VZ Nav and a call interrupted it. I have the ability to go to my main menu in the midst of a phone call. I was then pleasantly surprised I was able to work my way to Tools On The Go and access VZ Nav. Since I was in a phone call my current position was not being tracked through tower signal triangulation, but I was able to click over to find the route steps. Very handy. For once I didn't have to end the call to continue my trip. Sometimes when I can't end the call because I ...

Talked to my Sprint Rep

I work at an exclusive Sprint dealer store in colorado. After hearing many different dates that people claim that it will be released, I had to go straigh to the horses mouth. There is NO release date as of today, because they are still in the process of fixing the software problems. They are anticipating a mid-late June release but right now that is looking like a best case scenario. Any release date posted on here previous to my post is only specaluation.

Good news for VZW customers!

Per HOFO:

"The VZW Curve will be released on Friday, May 9 through Direct Fulfillment (CS, telesales, online) and on Monday, May 12 in retail stores.

Price: $319.99 2 yr (+ $50 MIR); $389.99 1 yr (+ $50 MIR); $439.99 full retail.

So basically, if you qualify for a $100 NE2 discount, you're looking at a Curve for $169.99. Not a bad deal at all.

Source: I work for VZW.

These dates could change, of course, as I'm not sure if this has been officially announced. My dates come from a PDF on the internal website."

The May 5 rumor that was floating around for a while is when the retail stores get their launch kits.
