defective phone

😢

i think i have a defective env2.

the phone screen seems to show the verizon name or goes black, but when i press okay or the power on button it seems to show the opening verizon video and goes back to normal. and the battery seems to not be working to it's fully potential either, i had 3 bars when i went to work at 8 then when i left at 3, the phone was completely dead and for those 7 hours, my phone just sat in a draw.

i had the phone since Friday, so on Sunday i plan exchange it for a new one. 😡

Good review

I have used this phone for a few days now and I'm quite impressed with its over all performance. The pictures don't do this phone justice!

Should have free email option

Verizon should give the option to have email use text messages instead or pay $5 a month. Even Virgin Mobile gives you free email app that only uses text messages. It would be a great option for people that want to use the email app but don't use it that much and want to use a real program instead of text email.

Good Car Charger & Case

Any good places to get car charger and case besides the Verizon Store?

I have a great self winding one for my old 8600 but didn't like the one at Verizon. Also any good cases out for it yet?

Space bar and speakrphone questions...

Anyone upset with placemnet of the space button---it should be in the middle. I keep hitting the wrong button thinking it is a space.

Also, anyway to use speakerphone/bluetooth with the phone closed?

Those are the only cons I can think of at this time...

LG EnV 2 is awesome looking!

Went to a Verizon store today to check out this phone. It is sooooo cool looking. Didn't purchase it, my 2 years not up yet, but after that, probably will. Want to hear more peoples experience with it. When I first saw it on phone scoop, I thought it was kind of ugly, but it sure grew on me fast! I love the big keypad on the outside, and on the inside, the very large screen with some really neat graphics. I only played aroung with it for about 5 minutes, but in that short time, I was very impressed. I love the maroon better than the black. It is more like a purple/maroon color. Absolutely gorgeous. Sound quality sounded great. Ringers seemed to be quite loud. Can't say too much more since I didn't have the time to really play with it. But I ...

env2 vs Voyager

I currently have the LG 8600 and was planning on upgrading to the Voyager but am thinking about this instead. The main thing I wanted it for was the ease of text and to get on the internet, mostly to check email.

So now that I see the env2 I'm not sure the more expensive Voyager is worth it...

I pay an extra $5 or 10 to have mobile web on my current phone, is it the same for the env2?

Battery life

For you that have the phone already, does it actually perform close to what the rated specs are for the battery life? This is a big deal for me and if it works like it is reported that would be awesome.

Beware the accidental dialing...

I've just figured out something I don't entirely like about my phone.

Wore carpenter jeans with side pockets. Tossed my phone in one and started some outdoor projects. Projects that were too loud to hear the apparent beeps in my pocket..

After that, I took off to the cemetary to visit my grandmother's grave. I'm out there, crouched beside it, arranging the flowers on it, and my phone starts ringing. My dad's calling to ask why I called him 2 times and never said anything. Hang up and look at my recent calls and realized that the phone had managed to unlock several times and call all my speed dials, including my gf who happened to be asleep because she works third shift. Major ooops there. Hopefully "you should have turned your p...

How's camera? (and I played w/it in store)

I went to verizon store yesterday and the manager was carrying it. I got to play with it for a bit without the security tie on it.

Main question for me is how's the camera? CNET review said it is only mediocre. That concerns me. You can't properly try out the camera inside the store.

Some comments of mine:
- It feels heavy to me. I am used to a lighter flip, and sometimes cradle it under my chin when I get tired of holding it. I worry that the ENV2 after a while on the phone will be cumbersome and tiring (I haven't used a candy bar before either). The guy said it's probably the battery that's heavy but I didn't ask to take it out.

- Related to above with holding it, it took me a while to find that sweet spot where my ear was right ...

i was wondering if anyone figured out a way to program different options into the external screen? right now it has contacts, messaging, recent calls, music, bluetooth and key guard. i would like to be able to put alarm clock on there...any ideas if that is customizable?

Can you...

1) send text from the front by just pressing send button after typing it?

2) Set navigation to the shortcut key inside phone?

3) set individual text alerts for each person, like you can with ringtones?

4) set photo caller id? and does the pic show up on outter screen? what's it look like if you can?

Anyway to sync mail from Exchange

The title says it all. Don't really need PUSH mail per se but being able to sync with Exchange might be nice.

Your comments are appreciate.

LG enV2 in stores tomorrow!!

On the phone scoop home page, it said the new enV2 will be in stores tomorrow. At first I thought this phone was kind of ugly, but it's actually growing on me. Not so bad after all. Will have to go to Verizon tomorrow and check it out. 😁
