Force 1X Only?

On my enV2 we could force the phone to stay on 1X to save battery life by basically turning off EVDO. Is there a way to do it for the W755? I went into the hidden service menu but didn't find anything. Any input is appreciated, thanks.

And people wonder why Moto is tanking.

We just recieved some of these phones at my store...junk. What a cheap piece of crap! lol. I dont usually hate on phones, as one persons garbage is anothers treasure. But cmon moto! Lets see something revolutionary for a change!! The razr has been out for nearly 4 years, and this is the best follow up you can come up with? No wonder 80% of the phones VZ is selling are LG. Can you make smiley faces easily?

Very Happy So, don't make fun, but I really like the LG models that allow you to do instant smiley faces in messages. I just got this phone and like it, but I can't overdo my smiley faces! And I like to! So, does anyone have a way you can do a smiley quickly on the motos?

Thanks! Smile

Anyone Using a WIRED Headset?

Our phone has dismal, unacceptable outgoing voice quality when used with a wired headset. We've tried 3 different headsets, nothing cheap - various models of Plantronics. (We have not tried Bluetooth yet. And it works fine with no headset.) We exchanged the phone, and the outgoing voice quality is hardly any better. Fortunately they didn't log it as an exchange, so we still have another chance. Is anyone else having the same issue? It's like it has too much noise canceling or something.

Has anyone figured out how to set iTap as your default entry mode when texting? Do I really need to manually set it to iTap everytime I want to send a message?

Maybe it's just a learning curve coming from my "ancient" E 815, but it seems like it takes me twice as long to compose a text message on the W755...

Texting Sounds and Setting as Ringtone????

From what I have read, people have been saying different things about setting saved sounds as ringtones. I would just like a simple final answer. If I text a ringtone from my computer to my phone, can I save this sound from the message and set this sound to use as a ringtone? I am only talking about texting.

Alternative WAP Programming

My mother purchased this phone recently, and I was rather impressed for what appeared to be a low-end moto phone. Pretty solid for the price.

I would like to set this up to run FREE WAP via HoTTProxy off my broadband connection.

I already accessed the security/programming menu via #073887*, but could not locate the area in which to change wap settings.

Has VZW neutered this model even further than most phones?

Can anyone provide instructions for accessing the settings, short of hacking via usb cable. Not really looking to go the BitPim/Phonetools/PST route.

I am not gonna risk bricking her phone.

w755 WSOD

My w755 would randomly have an issue where the screen would turn all white. Eventually it would not recover from the white screen.

I just had it swapped out at the vz store for another.... Hopefully this is just a one time thing.

Has anyone else had a problem with their w755?

I am really considering getting this phone but have a few questions. 1) is it durable? its not like i destroy phones but my current razr can not hold up to the daily abuse it takes. and 2) does the camera operate on the front screen with the flip closed?. Let me know and hopefully ill be on my way to a new phone soon!

Caller ID not displaying on front screen?

Has anyone noticed this on their phones? I got a call, but when I went to grab the phone, the front screen lights up, but the number didn't display on the front screen. Just the reception bars showed and battery life. I had to open the phone to check on the number. I would have expected this with my Samsung a650, as it only had an interior screen, but I find this unacceptable on this phone. I've already had to charge up this phone twice, and I hardly used it. Unless this is just a problem with my phone, then I'm having second thoughts about keeping this phone. I originally was giving some good advice on this phone, but may reconsider that. I did not have good luck with Motorola the last time around, and my last Motorola was the 120c ...

Question on Speakerphone

The main feature I'm interested in is the quality of the speakerphone. Does it have a true full-duplex speakerphone, as in both parties able to talk at same time without one being cut off. I need a true office quality speakerphone. An yone have an opinion?

TIA, Bill

Voice dialing did not have to be set up. Works right out of the box.
I counted 9 ringtones, ok, less if you're not counting the business suitable "bells".
