Motorola W755

What is the newest version of software for this phone? I just got it; don't know how long it sat pre-programmed at a warehouse, and my version is COOL_00.30.08P.

Is there any way to change Speed Dial 1 to something other than "Voicemail"?

Can i use a ringtone some one has sent to me on this phone? If so how because it doesn't seem as simple as saving the sound and pulling it up in ringtones!

I have this phone and love it. What do you think about it?

To those who have either owned both, or have extensive knowledge of both, should I buy the 8350 or the W755? They have virtually the same specs and the same price, but the 8350 has stereo speakers. And the W755 has the good looks.

I'm concerned about the musical functionality of the phones, battery life, and signal reception.

I have the LG VX 6100 now, and the only reason I really want to upgrade is for a music function. This is not to say that I wouldn't like changing back to iTap and other Motorola signature things (before my 6100, I had an e815 which took a swim in the lake).

So, do I really need stereo speakers, or does the W755 have good enough sound without having those?

And does the 8350 have any notable cons that I sho...

I just bought 2 Moto W755 phones for my wife and daughter.

Even though the menu Settings & Tools, Sound Settings, Power On/Off, Power On (and Power Off) are set to off, my phones announce "Verizon Wireless" when they're turned on. They also announce "Verzion Wireless" when a call is received and then start playing the ring tone.

Any way to stop this phone from saying "Verizon Wireless" all the time?

I see my earlier post (in response to my own question) got cut off somehow. Anyway, the latest software version for the W755 was released in mid-September. Updating to the new version requires a trip to a VZW corporate store and takes about 1/2 hour.

And yes, talking Caller ID works with this phone.

I'm considering new phones and one of the things I like best about my current phone is that I can make my own mp3 ringtones on my computer and condense pictures to an acceptable size, save them on my TransFlash card for my phone, then save them to my phone to be used as Individual Contact Pictures and Individual Contact Ringtones. (I have to text the music files to myself then save them from the Sent message currently) Can I get the same result from this phone? Either by the same method or a different/easier way?

I just got the Moto W755.. and am extremely unhappy with the battery life.. full charge lasts less that a day!! Has anyone had this experience or could there possibly be a defective battery in mine? The specs indicate 16+ days of Standby.. how do I get that?

Hey, any word anywhere if this phone will surface on Altell or US Cellular or some non-Verizon CDMA carrier in the US with the standard Motorola OS instead of the terrible Verizon one?

Ok as my name indicates i am a Nokia fan boy but have little choice since verizon seems to have the best reception where i live now. so lay it on me, is this phone good? I text alot, and will beusing the mp3 player on it a bit, please let me know.

I saw this at a VZW store today, looked pretty nice. Then he told me I would need to upgrademy plan to a new plan because of the Rhapsody player. I have the Americas Choice 1000 minute plan from 2-3 years ago & don't want to change. Also, I was a VZW Salesman for 3 years ending in 2005 & I don't remember issues like this where you needed to change a plan, just add features to the current plan. Any current reps who can confirm? Sorry this is so long. 🤨

Hi! Can anyone give me some information on this phone? I am considering purchasing it. Are the ringers loud? I keep it in my purse, but if the ringers are loud enough, I can hear it. I now own the LG VX 8350, and the ringers are very loud. I played aroung for a few minutes with the Motorola at the Verizon store, but I would really like to get someone's feedback who has this phone. How is call quality? Is the inside screen nice and bright? Also as I remember, the keypad lighting is white, right? And most importantly, the touch keys on the front, I am assuming that when you brush against it, if it's in my purse, they will light up and doesn't that drain the battery? How is the battery life? Can anyone tell me if their talking phone works on their W755?

If you go to sounds and settings, then down to voice readout. You have the choice to either ring only, caller id then ring, or just announce the caller until you answer it.
Also, if you can't find it there, you can touch the voice activation button on the right side of the phone too, then settings. if you click on info, it will tell you that it does have this feature. No matter which option I choose, it reverts right back to just the ringing. Does anyone else have that problem?

I have this phone set to vibrate only and have set missed call and voicemail to vibrate, with a reminder every 2 minutes. Yet, it does not vibrate every 2 minutes. It does make a soft click sound instead. Otherwise, vibrate works when receiving a call.

Does anyone have any suggestions or is there just something wrong with the phone?
