DO NOT use bitpim with the instinct.

For those of you who know about bitpim, don't connect the instinct, and run bitpim. It will wipe your instinct clean. I found out the hard way.
This is a public service message 😁

Sprint has alot of nerve forcing customers into spending money

I cannot believe Sprint finally comes out with a decent phone and they expect customers to pay an arm and a leg for a certain plan. They say its because this phone is such a power house people may go crazy and have overage charges. I want to know why they don't make everyone have the Simply Everything or talk/data/message plans people with normal phones can rack up just as much overages. Give me a break Sprint no wonder 500,000 customer jumped ship last quarter

Instinct Commercials?

😳
I thought that the in theater and the broadcasted commercials were very poorly done. But oh well... A phone is a phone... not a superhero. What are your thoughts?

screen auto lock

2 days with the new Instinct and so far so good. One thing though: The automatic screen lock is rather annoying, though I do understand that it's needed with a touch screen. Has anyone found a way to change the settings for the auto lock? Having to unlock the screen by holding the top power button is annoying sometimes. Sometimes it doesn't work right, sometimes it even powers off the phone if you hold it too long. Any ideas?

DOES THIS PHONE HAVE IM

I AM LOOKING FOR A PHONE THAT I CAN ACCESS ALL OF MY IM'S FROM (MYSPACE, YAHOO, AOL, ETC.) I HAVEN'T PURCHASED THE PHONE YET BECAUSE I AM STILL DECIDING WHETHER I AM GOING TO SPEND THE $449(SINCE I JUST USED MY UPGRADE FOR THE STUPID ASS RUMOR) OR WHETHER I AM GOING TO SWITCH AND GET THE NEW IPHONE IN 2 WEEKS. WHAT DO YOU ALL THINK? IS THIS PHONE A GREAT TOOL FOR A HEAVY INTERNET USER LIKE ME? WILL I BE ABLE TO RECEIVE INSTANT MESSAGES FROM ALL OF THESE VARIOUS SITES? IS IT WORTH THE MONEY, OR WOULD YOU WAIT. REMEMBER! I WILL ONLY PAY $199 FOR THE IPHONE (ALTHOUGH AT&T'S PLANS ARE HIGHER)

Possibly a good phone, but Sprint will screw it up!

There's no way this will work right when they first release it. I have bought the Razr2 and the Touch within a week of release, and both of them have been garbage. I ended up returning the Razr2 twice due to software glitches. My Touch still doesn't officially have GPS or EVDO Rev. A on it. Sprint will do the same thing it has done previously, which is release the phone to get something to market, and then promise a firmware update in six months, which is exactly what they did with the Touch. I am still waiting for the update. Most of their network isn't even on EVDO yet either, which makes most of the advanced features useless.

I am seriously considering ditching Sprint. They used to have the best new phones of any carrier, but no...

Wrong about messaging you can do it in pictoral view...

there is a button you can hit to turn the keybord vertical instead of horizontal... so that you may do one handed texting... i sell phones for sprint and its sad that i refer alot of constermers who want to compare phones to your website when you have inacurate descriptions of the instinct.... unbelievable

you wanna talk about Sprint Sucks... Lets talk rollover

Okay all ive been hearing is this and that about how Sprint Sucks... how att is so much better than sprint in coverage and how verizon is so much better...YOU WANT THE TRUTH LETS BREAK INTO DETAIL SHALL WE...

Verizon vs. Sprint: Honestly people could say we're the exact same company with diffrent flaws towards each other... Sprint has bad customer service (which we all know they are improving) and Verizon has much more expensive rate plans than compared to Sprint... With Sprint you can get unlimited text messaging and data with 900 min for 89.99 with nights starting at 7pm... with verizon you only get more mins but add an extra 15 or 20 per unlimited text and data feature... Coverage is the same we both have roaming agreements which are i...

Security Features for Touch Phones

I've just purchased the Instinct and I'm shocked that the security is so lame. Please help me. Touch phones only allow you to lock the complete phone or have your information openly accessible? WTF!!!! So if my phone is lost or my girlfriend sees my phone which this phone is so attractive you are gonna want to play with it. My contacts, text messages, pics, and every personal info is exposed to the public. I would expect samsung, apple, blackberry and any other high end phone to have better security functions. This alone will make me return this phone. Am I over exagerating? I feel its a principle. You pay for something and input all of your confidential info and either the phone is completely locked or completely open.

Stocks Application

Has anyone found an easy way to get stock quotes yet or a site that does it well? I understand they made this phone with a younger crowd and not as much businesses in mind, but I was expecting at least some sort of stock checker program on it. Any info would be greatly appricated thank you.

Currently out of the country, and I was wondering if the Instinct is actually selling well, or just collecting dust in the whse (?)

Instinct = Failure upon Arrival

Let's see, near-unusable touch screen (I used a final production model and found it to be similar, though much better than the terrible Glyde) , sloppy web browser, erratic call quality (Even CNet said so).

I know of a much nicer touch screen phone for that price on a much nicer network. I wonder who honestly would purchase the Instinct over its *ahem* competition.
