Verizon

Verizon should get a version of this phone because they are discontinuing the 8600 and this would be a good upgrade. Does anyone know if they will be getting something like this.

LG's problem....

IS that they don't put their money where their mouth is.

IF they wanted to create a phone called MUZIQ, then they needed to have worked real hard on the MP3 player portion of the phone. However, the MP3 player on this phone seems to be the same as the MP3 player on the FUSIC.

That means it is a mediocre player that is not much different than any phone with an MP3 player built in.

The name MUZIQ is a bad exercise in product marketing. And for some reason, it looks more like the previous generation of Chocolate, than FUSIC.

If you can't play the music you loaded on your phone...

If you can't play the music you loaded on your phone...

It is probably due to the fact that your files are read only.

I loaded a few mp3s under the Music directory. They would show up under Memory Card Manager. However, they would not show up under the Sprint Music Store player.

After disabling the read only option on the offending files, everything works perfectly.

Hope this helps someone...

Just got it today...

Someone within LG was kind enough to send me this phone.

So far, I'm really liking it. The functionality is very user friendly and it's super slick looking.

I haven't had a chance to really get into the daily grind with it yet, but one of the coolest things about it is that when you get a call, all of your call options immediately pop up as soon as you answer, and you only have to scroll up or down to select what you want to do.

Switched from my Sanyo M1 to this device because it has the 4gig minisd capacity, and it works with the Sprint Music Manager software.

😁

How about....

....a comparo between this and the new chocolate?

Also, wanted to mention that even though most phones have a 2.5mm headphone jack, one can use a 2.5mm to 3.5mm converter to use regular headphones. I do on my vx8550 and it sounds awesome.

Sprint Employees

Was anyone else under the impression that the phone was to launch today the 12th? If anyone read the playbook it said today....but it's not available to us...and if anyone knows when we can buy it as employees let me know. I called care and the chick had no clue.

Keeping front display lit / hidden directory?

Is there any way to keep the front display lit on this phone? I like to be able to read the clock without clicking a button. I know with some other LG models there's a code you can use to access a hidden directory to turn off the power save mode -- is there one with this phone?
Thanks!

People posting

I love the people who post with sucha strong opinion without even seeing the phone in person!

I was doubtful, but aftre holding it today and playing with it a bit, I was quite impressed.

The ability to put applications to run in the background is a great feature that many phones (even high end ones) do not have.

Also, the direct to music button is nice. Starts playing your music, not just bringing you to the player.

And lastly, vibration feedback in the external controls.

All in all, looks really good.

Nice...

This phone looks pretty cool , but they could have made a much larger screen with all of that wasted space. And I (personally) dont really like the grey in the inside. But otherwise it looks lke a nice phone.

BlackBerry 8300 8800 Series Defects

I can't believe that with the release of the 8300 and 8830 that they've still not fixed their display defect.

Every model of new trackball-based BlackBerry that isn't an 8100 Pearl that I have seen has pits all over the display lens. The AT&T models seem to be the worst of the bunch, but still, it is very annoying to be looking at your screen and seeing these little specs of iridescent refraction that look like burnt out or stuck on pixels, or grime on the display, just to find out it's a manufacturer's flaw.

For the price these devices cost, they shouldn't be so poorly manufactured.

RIM of course sent back a form letter denying the existence of this, of course.

RIM: Nothing new?

All that was there was the Curve which is already out?

I guess Verizon isn't getting the Pearl.

K850 5 megapixels

Does the fact it is a five megapixel camera phone not seem to be something worth mentioning in the article. I know it was mentioned, but is that not a big deal in terms of cell phone cameras?
