Google Maps - How to get it ?

I've been reading about how people use Google Maps for the GPS. Where can you find the Google Maps icon on the phone ? I looked around and couldn't find it. Or is it something that I need to download from somewhere ?

when will they get the battery life of these phones up

This phone...fully charged with the extended battery doesn't last longer than a day.

frustrating.

I don't agree with the diagnosis that you will hit the application keys next to the space bar. I have had the phone 3 weeks and never done that.

thanks for the video, gps is a bit weak and i lose signal when driving.

come one eric! i expected more than this review from you...

-NO the small dot in the top right of the front of the phone is not an "indicator light"! it is the sensor for your lighting conditions to supply the proper backlight to your occasion.
-NO the standard battery does not last 2 days for ANYone that texts more than 10 times a day or actually talks on their phone.
-YES the device WITH extended battery installed fits in any pocket with ease (unless you wear girl-pants)
-NO the signal strength is not poor, in fact it i have yet to drop a call on roadtrips or while inside of any structure.

maybe we should have a review from an un-biased source, because you also forgot to mention how the CDMA version of this phone has 1/4 the memory and no extended battery included with purchase.

the only...

Motorola Q Global / Q9h - Is there a difference?

Please forgive my ignorance.

When I go to buy this phone I am being shown a Q 9h Global which is black on the front and black with silver on the sides. However, I am also being shown a Q 9h phone which is black on all four sides.

Is there a difference between the two phones besides the colour? I want to make the best buying decision possible and I am confused as to why one version has an extension on the name and there is a slight colour difference.

Phone as modem?

I have had phones with Sprint where you could use the phone as a modem if you had the drivers. Has anyone setup this phone to do just that? Where would I go to find the drivers. I see that the phone has in the "Connections" category it has an option "USB Device Type" where you can change to havethe computer read the phone as a Modem instead of a "Mass storage device"so it is all setup to do this operation. How would i finalize the process?

Q9 Insurance

Atlantic Technology Group has a policy for the Q9h that calls for $5/month and a $79 deductible. Safeware and Asurion do not cover the Q9h.

Blank Black screen after "waking-up" from standby mode....

Has anyone experience the screen remain black (except for the outermost faint outline) when you wake the phone up from stand by mode? it is constant but enough to prompt me to write this concern.

Q9h or iPhone?

I am looking for an upgrade and have narrowed down my selection to the Q9h or the iPhone (my 2 sons in college each have one). The iPhone has a much better screen, wifi (which is important since I live in a rural area with just EDGE), and style. It lacks mms, integration with Windows Live Messenger and Windows Live Mail. Can anyone help me make up my mind?

hide i.d or show i.d option before hitting the send button!

this is the best phone i've ever had, understanding that it still has it's quirks...i know of the caller id setting...contacts only, all,or none to show your id to,however on my old mtorola phone i could choose "hide i.d" or "show i.d" prior to hitting send before each call.
any known trick or function for this one missing feature on my new moto q9 (at&t)?

Trouble connecting to Media Net?

I picked up my first Q9 on Wed. but it would almost never connect to the internet, and it kept resetting at random.

I swapped for a different phone yesterday and it's connecting to the internet better, but still gives a network connection error every now and then. even with 2 bars of signal and the E in the upper right corner. I'm guessing that it means there is internet coverage when the E is in the upper right hand corner...right?

Anyway, just curious if anyone else is having problems connecting. I'm a new ATT customer and not familiar with the service too well.

Thanks

Weird GSM/2G glitching voice quality

Help!

I am a recently converted AT&T customer (having had Verizon for years). I love my Q9 ... but ... I think I have found some kind of glitch with it. I would like to know if this "glitch" is truly a glitch or if it is just to be expected on a GSM (non-3G) network. By the way, I am on my 2nd Q9 and both seemed to have this issue.

When I am on a call and 3G is engaged, life is good ... and call quality is excellent. However, I have noticed on practically every GSM/EDGE/non-3G call that there is a brief dropout every minute or so. It only lasts about 1/4 of a second, but it is noticeable and it does mute out the person you are on the phone with if they are speaking at the time. It almost sounds like the call is being handed off from ...

Proud New Owner

Just decided to move off my 2125 to the Q and loving it so far. But have few questions that I haven't seen in forums yet and hoping someone else has?

1) What is max microSD card this will handle, on specs says 2GB, but I've seen others in here saying they have 6 and 8GB cards but not the phone yet, so curious if anyone has used larger cards if so the size.

2) Any good car kits for mounting for GPS directions and this phone?

3) How to sync contacts with computer? I installed activsync but says only file tranfer and I need full blown version of Outlook to sync, which I dont have and not on CD. So curious how others are syncing data?

Thanks and enjoy.

1500 integrated Bolt-on and windows live????

What is: 1500 integrated Bolt-on that is mentioned in PDA Personal Max media package?? It doesn't say text messages like some other messages do, so I'm confused??? I don't need any kind of texting any way. We have unlimited family plan. I was even told by one ATT rep that if I got a plan that included texting it would cancel my family plan account??? 👀

Also, what is the Windows Live ppl are talking about to get their gps to work? I supposed you still have to pay for Telenav? I want to see this gps actually WORK. I can tell you now that it's terrible and even when i am in clear open sky on the highway almost all of the time it will tell me my signal is weak.

Does anyone know how many satellites it tracks? My handheld...

Q Paks

When selecting the following link,

http://www.motorola.com/us/myqpaks »

the user is re-directed to the following link:

http://motorola.clonefone.com/MotorolaQ-Paks/index.html »

Is the "motorola.clonefone.com a legitimate site sanctioned by Moro and AT&T?

If the "motorola.com/us/myqpaks" address is pasted into the internet browser window, there is a page from the Moto website notifying the user that the page does not exist in the location being accessed by the address.
