Bluetooth

In the thread below, I read complaints about the Bluetooth staying connected. I still have my 8100. As I replied to this, ever since VZW installed the music software (v04) this has been a problem. Not so when it came out. If you stayed with v01, you were fine. It was never corrected and as usual LG denied there was a problem. Before I waste my money, would appreciate some comments. Don't know if this is only an LG problem or not. Thanks in advance.

front screen...does it get scratched easily

i currently own the 8000 and i love it...one reason is because the front screen has the silver trim around it that comes out further than the screen so even if the phone is laying face down the screen cant get scratched easily....does the 8700 have anything like this...is the screen slightly inset on the front of the phone so that it cant get scrathced laying face down...anyone that has one let me know please...plan to buy soon.

Battery Life

Can anyone tell me what the battery life is like with real use. I know the usage time according to Verizon is about 10% less (200 minutes) than the 8600 (220 minutes) which i owned and found to be just adequate. I believe 200 minutes is too short a period of time for use. It reminds me of the talk time for the Razor (200 minutes) on its initial launch and then everyone realizing you "had" to buy the extended battery.

Heads Up!!!

I was advised by the stats here at Phone Scoop and other early reviews that the LG8700 had a voice memo. You can see that listed here on this site.

I have my 8700 in hand and unless I'm a total idiot (very possibe) I can't find that feature!

Be advised! If you wanted voice memo on your LG8700....forget it.

Or please show me how to access it.

ID text tone question..

ok well, im a sales rep for verizon, and im constantly looking for new phones.. and lately ive stuck to LG, only because you can personalize text tones [as well as ringtones] on some of them [example, 8300] -does the 8700 allow you to personalize text tones as well?

Just got mine- FED EX next day!!!

Just got my 8700. Called customer service yesterday afternoon and had it sent overnight. Hands down the nicest phone Verizon or LG has ever made! Do not have time to activate until later, so will post soon on how it performs.

Speakerphone

It would seem to me that it will not have much of a speaker phone because the speaker is so small, and no grill like the Razr. Are the people who design these phones that stupid?

Speaker phone

Unlike the 8600, will the speakerphone work with the phone closed?

Color?

I guess I'll have to see this in the store before buying it. On Phone Scoop it looks to be all metalic but on Verizon's site it looks to be a metalic case with some gray plastic at the bottom. Verizon drives me crazy when they do things like that. If Verizon's is right it is certainly no shine in appearance.

Hmmmmm.

I have the vx-8600. I really like everything about the phone except the fingerprint problem and because it is made of plastic it does not feel very solid in places. The vx-8700 appears to deal with these issues but we will not know how the 8700 is until we can actually handle it. I thought I would have a problem with the keypad on the 8600 being flat, but LG has done a good job with that. I wonder why they did not put this phone out first? (if it actually does solve some of the few shortcomings of the 8600). How long has the 8600 been out? About a year? This is how Verizon, as well as the other companies, keep making us spend more money, both on the new phones and extending our contracts. I only get a one year contract (I have heard ...

Flash and Stereo Speakers

Why dont some cell phones come with a flash?
Why dont some cell phones come with stereo speakers?
Isnt a flash a good thing to have to take night pictures?
Isnt stereo speakers a louder or better surround sound or better quality sound for a music player phone?
I dont understand it.
