Has anyone heard rumors that the Ocean was being released today? True?

I've heard on a couple of different websites that the phone was coming out today. It really irritates me that the Helio website can't give an exact release date. I mean its been Spring for a while now, and Summer starts in June which is next month. So when is this d*mn phone really coming out?

It coming very soon

I just got off the phone with a rep from Helio. He says they are releasing it on this coming Monday (April 30th).

Also, if you have a myspace account and mention myspace you wont have a contract.

Not sure how true this is, but IT IS WHAT I WAS TOLD BY THE HELIO REP.

This Phone or the iPhone - Cingular should be #1 in dropped calls

I got a Helio kickflip about a month after it was released in store last summer, I loved the service, and the phone although cool and innovative, left much to be desired (size, bluetooth, a really weird camera, and upgradeable software for things like buddy beacon and google maps) the 3G was amazing, better than any other service and the phone GUI was awesome as well, but I just could keep it.

I ducked out after my trial period and signed on with Cingular and got my hands on the import version of the Sony Ericsson w810i, one of the greatest Combo phones ever (Phone/Music/Camera) I love my phone, but believe it or not, I drop more call with cingular than I ever did with Verizon or Helio.

No comes my dilemma, the only reason I stayed wi...

amazing...

This thing is what any serious toy geek has been looking forward to. Integrated everything.. contact lists.. I'll be getting one.

I got the XV-6700 because I didn't like the keyboard on my "V" (vx9800) after switching from my sidekick II.. (best keyboard ever). But the xv6700 lacks a a decent speaker for the phone calls and runs sluggish even with no background/today screen software running. It's battery life is also deplorable.

I also have a chocolate (vx8500).. it's a wonderful phone with a large screen and responds well to bitpim... but it's just for pix/calls.

I've waited a long time for a phone like this so that I can go to a single device/number that finally does it all... anyone else looking forward to it?

Add on La Brea

Anyone in Los Angeles see the add for this phone on La Brea? It's a whole building side done by local artist Tim Biskup, the phone looks like one of his characters named "Calli" and has other characters on the side. I'm a fan of his work, so I was happy to see that Helio is getting that "cutting edge" vibe by hiring cool artists. I'll post a link if I find it...

Rich, are you sure the Motorola maxx Ve has an FM radio?

I couldn't find any reference to it in the user manual. Here's a link to the user manual.
