Is it worth the extra $100...

I recently went into my local Sprint store to buy a new phone. They didn't have the M1 on display, so after browsing for a while I narrowed it down to between the Sanyo 8400 and the Samsung A900. I ended up going with the 8400 for the MicroSD slot (I already had a spare 1GB MicroSD card) and better battery life.

I'm reasonably happy with the 8400, except for one thing. The picture quality of the built-in camera is rather disapointing. Even when I set it to "Fine Quality" the pictures I take are cluttered with what I can only describe as "off-color pixels".

I really don't expect to be using the camera very often, but when I do I'd want at least a reasonably decent quality picture. Otherwise, why am I even paying for a high-end phon...

Music thru Media Player

Hopefully someone can help me with this. How do you play music thru the media player? Im not too tech savy but did manage to get music from my itunes to play thru the music option but it takes too long to play thru there. so i was wondering how to get my music to play thru the media bcuz it is much faster. For example, when the phone is closed and you access the media player with the external keys. Is that just for videos and such? I cant seem to figure it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks ๐Ÿ˜

Voice Ringers Not working 100%

SO far, I love this phone. It has everthing I have been looking for in a handset. However, I use the voice ringers, and for voice calls they work great. But when I recieve an SMS, the female voice says "new text message", and thats it. I know it sounds silly, but I sometimes recieve 100's of text pages a day, and I love knowing which ones to ignore, because They are in my e-mail too. Has anyone else experienced this?

power vision freezing up

hey, i have been playing with this phone non stop. i don't have very much of my memory full (32 songs, 50 pictures, 1 10 sec. video) and i am just wondering if anyone has had problems with the internet freezing on them, i've had to reboot the phone (taking out the battery) twice today. and i'm wondering if its a defect with my phone in particular, or if i'm pressing buttons too fast, or if everyone expieriances this and i should just get over it.

Screen colors and other questions

This phone only has 260,000 colors. I thought it had 262,144 colors like all other phones that are close to 260K or more. Anyway, can you guys answer this questionss:

How many colors does the service LED show?

Does this phone take clear pictures? Can someone post some around a page too see how they look?

How's the walkie talkie feature?

Is the flash bright enough in the dark? Looks Small!!

Does it come with ringtones, games, or any kinds of applications?

Is a 2.0 inch screen big like a RAZR? A RAZR's screen looks like 2.2 to 2.4 inches big.

Does it snap when you open the phone and close it like Nextel's phones?

Is the menu fast?

Thanks ๐Ÿ˜ in advance if anybody answers this questions!!

ReadyLink? Eric?

One thing.

I noticed you called one of the side buttons a voice recorder, and one a voice command.

The voice recorder is actually the ReadyLink key. The RL key turns into a voice recorder when RL is disabled in the menus. Should've mentioned this.

This is actually one of the first truely feature rich ReadyLink phones Sprint has ever offered.

It is actually a kick ass phone. Good review otherwise.

Video Review is a total letdown.

I'm really disappointed in this review, phonescoop. The reviewer left out a lot of crucial information and spent time on things that have nothing to do with the phone. For example, the mention of Sprint's lame TV support has nothing to do with the actual performance of the phone. That's an issue with Sprint.

Mr. Lin (the reviewer) never mentions that the media player quality is easily adjustible through an equalizer and volume is very good. Plus, it seems to be no big deal that this is only the second phone for Sprint (that I'm aware of) that provides stereo bluetooth music play.

Plus it's really nice to have a phone where the front media buttons are flush with the casing as to prevent accidental pressing in your pocket (see the Sa...

good review but off topic

it was a good review of the phone but about the tv was just carrier bashing. he mentions how sprint tv isnt good. who cares, atleast sprint has live tv unlike verizon or more channels to offer then cingular. seriously that was messed up to bash sprint like that about the tv.

could have showed the live tv in landscape mode and would have been an actual review, but sorry its not in verizon or cingular so we can highly say stuff is great on thier network even if its clips

Correction On Sanyo M1 Video

Hey.

Yes, this phone is the absolute best phone Sprint has released yet.

And...

When using the Sprint Music player, you CAN use stereo bluetooth headphones. I have the Motorola HS850's, and they work wonderfully, playing my downloaded and purchased music. I noticed that in the video, it was stated you can only do so in the media player.

*errrr*

Well... I will give you this:

You were absolutlely right about everything else in the video review. Whew. What a phone, and so few faults!

Correction on Two Media Players

Although the phone does have two media players, users can still use the Music Store Player to play the files that they loaded onto the phone via Mass Storage. The user must put the songs into the Music folder rather than the Media Folder. Some people don't want to purchase music from the music store so they don't even bother using the music player instead they use the media player. If you are someone who plans on purchasing music over the sprint music store (whether regularly or periodically) it would be best to store all your music in the music folder and access it through the music store player so that you have access to all of your music on one application. Also, like someone else mentioned, you can use BT Stereo while using the music sto...

Flashing bluetooth icon. Audio cuts. Anyone else?

A few calls per day, my green bluetooth icon starts flashing, and the audio starts cutting out really bad. I can hear the person perfectly, but it is almost like my voice only transfers when the icon flashes on. So every 1 second of what I say cuts out. Just hoping to get feedback.
