Reception on N75

Has anyone experienced any loss of reception due to using the unbranding process. I work in an AT&T agent location and have seen a lot of phones lose reception when they get unlocked. I love my N75 but do want to take advantage of the A2DP and other benefits of unbranding it but not if I'm not going to be able to use it for it's primary purpose. It is a phone after all.
Any feedback I can get on this would be greatly appreciated.

Anybody really test the A2DP?

I was wondering if anybody has really had any experience with the A2DP on the unbranded or debranded versions of this phone. My concern is that it really doesn't work that well, and that may be why AT&T removed it. I read some review somewhere where somebody said it was really choppy on their unbranded version.

This phone sucks....

I have had it with this damn phone and the sorry battery life. I called at&t warranty exchange and asked for a different model. The woman I spoke to had no idea about cell phones so I got put through to the escalation desk. You must get to the escalation desk to get a real cell phone person in the warranty exchange department. I asked for the sony ericsson w580i and they said ok. I received the phone and i must tell you that it blows the n75 away. Although the screen is small, the walkman is perfect, the internet is quicker than that sorry 3g crap. I am just happy now. Hopefully all of you will jump ship too. Also the w580i has 9 hours of battery life(no more carrying three batteries). Actually the menus are so damn fast on this pho...

Yahoo Instant Messenger

I recently debranded my AT&T(Cingular) N75. Anyway, one thing I really liked on the branded version was the Yahoo IM. I didn't realize it at the time but it must have been a special deal for AT&T, cause now I have to use yahoo mobile web.

Or is there a place I can download the Yahoo IM software to re-install?

Text Messaging Question**Please help**

So I just got this phone from At&t refurbished. I text like crazy and have noticed that almost all of the time it can take anywhere from 7 to 33 seconds to just open a regular text message and it also takes a really long time to wait for the phone to let me reply. Does anyone else have this problem or do I need to return this because it is a piece of poop? Also, is there any type of battery that has a longer battery life. It eats up the battery bad from text messaging.

Debranded phone gets funky messages

I successfully debranded my phone last week. The only adverse side effect that I have come across is with messaging. Occasionally a message comes thru that cant be read. In the in box, it shows the message with a question mark next to it. I can see the beginning of the message in the inbox screen but if I try to open it the phone simply does nothing. If I exit and close my phone, the disply will still show that I have one new message. Also, I cant read it with nokia phone suite. Fortunately I am able to delete it. But this is a bit frustrating.Ideas?

Bluetooth Plaintronics 655 for the Nokia N75

Hi,

I purchased the Bluetooth Plaintronics 655 for my Nokia N75 and am having issues with the gel ear plugs. It appears that the ear plugs do not lock into place thus causing the ear plug and piece to separate. I wished I had taken the advice of the AT&T sales persone who told me that she didn't like the 655. I didn't even ask her why as I was undecided at that point and a month later ended up ordering it on AT&T's website.

Does anyone else have this ear piece and are you experiencing the same issues?

Thanks,
Veets

Meeting Profile

I have some crazy ringtones for when friends call.
But when I am at work I want to have a normal ringtone. So I set the profile to meeting.
But the associated ringtones still ring when someone calls. Is there a way to override the associated ring tones in a specific profile?

Lock on Speakerphone

I understand that I have to wait until after a call is connected to select the speaker-phone. Is there any way to lock the speaker phone on until I manually change that setting?

Are there other flip phones, Nokia or otherwise, that have a persistent setting for their speakerphone?

So what is the deal with debranding???

I've been researching this debranding thing for awhile now, trying to get every bit of info on it. From what I've read, it's a good thing. Yet with larue26's recent comments about losing this phone for something else, I don't know what to believe. Can someone tell me if this really eliminates the problems that everybody seems to be having with the phone?

Allow Sim Card To Send Message?

I have a Nokia N75 and every now and then when I open the flip, it would ask: "Allow Sim Card to Send Message?". The left button is to "Send" and the right button is to "Cancel". So far I only "Cancel". What is that all about? Thank you so much for any help.

MP3 sounds good / Ringtones sound bad

I created an MP3 snippet to use as a ringtone. I used equalizer to reduce high and low frequencies, so that it would sound good on a cell phone. I tried downloading it with 'data transfer' on USB cable to the phone under Sounds/Digital. It shows up as a ringtone, when assigning 'ringing tones'. It sounds great when playing as an example when selecting the ringtone, BUT after assigning as a ringtone, it sounds terrible when the phone actually rings (tinny, echo, reverb). I also tried downloading with 'music synch' under nokia PC suite, with 'optimize for phone', then on the phone 'make available as a ringtone'. Same result, it sounds fine as music, and as example for ringtone, but TERRIBLE when phone rings.

Any ideas / suggestions? ...
