Downloading phonebook from KRZR to Kenwood KDC-W5534U

Hi

I can connect my Motorola KRZR K1 to the bluetooth enabled Kenwood head unit FDC-W5534U (this has the optional Bluetooth KCA-BT 100 adaptor).

However, I just cannot get the phone / head unit to send the phonebook data. I can receive calls OK and it displays the incoming phone number, it would just be nice to finish the job off and get the person's name to display.

Anybody got any suggestions? I have tried sending the phonebook data from the Sim card and from storage on the phone, but with no success.

Thanks.

Adrian

Oh, by the way, the Kenwood head unit and the KRZR are fantastic, despite this annoying problem.

Customizable Softkeys on KRZR K1

Does anybody know if you can customize the softkeys on the KRZR K1 that are on the phyical keypad itself. All it says for me is either "Shortcut" & Main Menu. I have the TMobile KRZR K1, I dunno if this differs from the Cingular K1 at all.

Let me know if any of you can find a solution

Cingular Insurance

For those who have had their KRZR K1 less than 30 days : you can now add insurance for the Motorola KRZR K1, that was previously not available. Checked the list yesterday and it is now included in the phones eligible for insurance.

BC60 Battery for KRZR K1

In my search for an extended capacity battery for the K1, I find several sites that say the Motorola BC60 (3.7V, 820mah, Lithium-Ion) is compatible with the K1. However, I did find one review

of the K1 that said the BC60 would work, but the back cover would not snap in place.

Have any of you K1 users tried the BC60 battery?? Does it fit?

Front cover breaking/cracking issues??

Ready to upgrade a couple of my cell lines to the KRZR K1. My business contact with a local Cingular/ATT store in the Austin, Tx area communicated to me that she has had over 6 customers bring the K1 back due to "cracking/breaking" of the front
cover the last three weeks. My thought was "don't drop the phone it will not break." But she questioned the long term durability of the K1!?? Cingular/ATT does not warranty this breakage, but Moto will with a 2 week turnaround for repair or replacement. Has anyone who has owned this phone experienced front cover breakage? Thanks!

KRZR...should I get it?

i am now eligible for upgrade. i hate doing 2 year contracts. i called cingular and asked how much the krzr would cost on a one year. they told me it would be $329.99 then i called the store around the block from my house, they said $250. That is a lot of money for me to spend just to have a one year. so i called around and best buy has it for $129 on a two year. that is a lot better for me, but idk if i want the phone for two years.

so basically what i am asking is, would i get bored of the krzr after a while if i signed up for two year? or should i just wait for the price to drop on the one year? thanks.

Unlocked KRZR - foreign characters above numbers on keypad

I just received an unlocked blue KRZR from Amazon.com, and it had what looked like Chinese characters above all the numbers on the keypad. It was distracting to look at when dialing or texting, so I'm returning the phone. I checked their web page for this phone, and if you look really closely at the large picture of the keypad, you can just make out that there are markings above the numbers.
I understand the unlocked phones are made outside the US and are often made for other countries, but does anyone know if ALL of the unlocked KRZR's have this issue? I ordered another one from TigerDirect.com (keypad picture on their web page was without additional characters), so I'm hoping that one has a more standard keypad.
Any thoughts would be ...

Is the KRZR K1 dependable--could it be the most dependable?

Reviews seem good. But, wanting to know from those that sell the phone about returns. tired of phones that have problems like the Razr and phones you can hear well.
So is it one of the most dependable phones on the market. review seem to be the best I seen for any phone.

KRZR K1 Is It True!

Here’s what the local dealer told me… He said there are two versions of the KRZR K1. One mostly made in China for Cingular and is under Cingular 1 year warranty. The price for this phone is $400.00 or at least that’s what he’s selling. This phone is LOCKED by Cingular! The other one is imported and doesn’t qualify for Cingular’s warranty, but you can buy Insurance for it through Cingular. The cost for the phone is $300.00 and it’s UNLOCKED! He said basically the two phones are the same except the warranty and Locked… He also said the imported version carries more goodies. If that’s the case, I’d go for the imported version since I will need to use it via other GSM networks. I’m thinking about signing up for a four lines family share plan in ...

Record audio to computer......

Hi! I wonder if someone can help me out. I used to record the audio from my E815 into my computer through the headset jack. Now I have a KRZR and it doesn't have a headset jack only mini usb. I know they make an adapter but was wondering if there was any way to do it with bluetooth instead of getting the adapter.

Thanks,

John
