Blackberry Pearl 8130 freezing and deleting my messages!

Its been a long time since I was on this site and frankly if the answer is already posted I don't feel like looking for it. Here is my issue.

My BB Pearl (Sprint) keeps deleting my text messages and call log as soon as I get them. I figured it had to do with free memory. Why does my free memory change all the time?

Also, why does my phone freeze up so that I miss calls and my alarm or alerts don't go off. This is seriously pissing me off since my husband just got to Kuwait and I woke up to 2 missed calls (and the number of course was already gone from call log) AND 2 voicemails from him. I miss him dang it! So I definitely don't want to miss another call from him!

Any help would be appreciated. The end.

It sounds like a memory issue... When the BB gets too much stuff saved on its internal memory, it starts deleting things, like your msg inbox and call log so it can still run, and if too much is used, then it freezes, and deletes other things like appointment logs.

What you will want to do first and for most is get a micro SD card if you don't already have one, and move any and all pics, music, etc on to it. Even if you already have one, make sure it hasn't been used up, and that nothing has accidently been saved to the device.

From here you will want to do some other memory cleaning things:

1. Do a battery pull once or twice a week, this will make sure any programs still running in the background get closed for sure, and that any...

Um, ok, do me a favor... do this, hold down the shift key and hit L,G,L,G This will bring up a log of every action the phone has done, clear the log.

Then, open your browser, go to options, Cache operations, and clear all of it. You will have to type in usernames and passwords again for some sites like myspace, facebook, etc.

Then do a battery pull reset, let the phone fully boot up and sit for a couple minutes afterward, then go to "options" then "status" and let me know how many "File Free" bytes it says you have.
