1. can I use yahoo messenger and google talk in the phone using the home wi-fi network. I am able to use them on phone with bb internet connection but not the other phone using the wireless network at home.

I don't think the Curve models offer wife. I'm not sure about T-Mo, but the At&T 8310 does not have it. If that is the case, then no.

2. Skype with the curve. I installed iskoot on both the phones. I can call any landline with skypeout but I am not able to call another online skype contact (on PC).. any help???

Skype is offered on the curve. I don't recall the url, but you should be able to google, Blackberry and Skype to find the new Skype BB app.

3. Any other browser that I can use instead of the default bb browser. I have read that the default browser is liited. I tried installing mine opera 4 beta but could not install on any of the phones. don't know why??

Mini Opera 4 works fine on mine. It should work, just try using the OTA download. It has it's short comings too, so I tend to switch between apps. Opera to Standard browser, pending my needs.
