The Catalyst

The survey speak that students are the main victim of the conflict between Administration and The Catalyst. Students have a variety of speculation of separating the payment of the catalyst. It was never clear to the students the main reason about this issue of separating the payment. During the last enrollment students are all confused if they will pay or not for the TC fee. Students heard the side of The Catalyst and they also deserve to know the real reason of the Administration, why did they separated the payment of The Catalyst to stop the speculations.

Based on the survey almost all of the students are aware of the separation of The Catalyst fee but not informed about the main reason why it happened. We formulated that students believe that the Administratipn purpose of doing this is because most of the articles of The Catalyst are against the Administration. So why would they support a publication that will just condmened their projects and ideas. Although School Administration have the legal
power to deprive the campus press of the lifeblood of their operations, which is the publication fee, it is obvious that this is an advantage on their part because it will stop the young writers to expose the irregularities in the University like censure articles which are critical of the corrupt and commercialized operations of the University. School Administration as of now is not doing any actions about this issue and most of the students doesn't have any hint if the administration have plans to do something about it.

Students was asked if they will pay for the TC fee next enrollment and majority of them agreed to pay. "To write not for the people is nothing.", a saying that The Catalyst publication has been following over the years to serve the students of Polytechnic University of The Philippines. As the students of Polytechnic University of the Philippines remembers,The Catalyst plays a big role against the tuition fee increase and they condemend the infrastructure project of the administration and the P250 developmental fee and P800 energy fee as well. The Catalyst are the defenders of the interest of the PUP students The PUPians deserve to know the truth and have the right to be heard.
