T616 - tower preferences

I have a T616 with Cingular here in New Orleans. Lately I have been loosing quality in my signal from my house. I know its the tower because I have gone through 3 phones and my friends next door also have seen this happen over the last 6 months.. The thing is, once my signal drops, I pick up a "Extended" mode on AT&T's network and the signal is awesome! So, after bitching with Cingular for several months and getting nothing out of it but failed promises, I am wondering if anyone knows if there is a way to have my phone stay attached to this tower when I am home, someone mentioned to me that this "might" be possible... any ideas? I won't switch carriers because the signal is solid any other time and I am also binded by a contract, plus r...
