In my experience: sanyo=cheap.

-Hinges break easily.

-Charging ports get worn out quick too.

I'll never get a Sanyo, I thought this was the place to shout it out.

Peace.

I'll agree with you on the hinges part, but the charging jack problem only happens with the 8200.

8100. 8200. 5500/4500. Those are the ones I'm familiar with, and happens to them all.

8100 had issues with bad battery life, but it wasn't as bad as the 8200 and its tip. The 8100 used the full size plug by default so I don't know why you're mentioning it. As a former owner (and abuser) of the 5500, I've never seen this problem and rarely have I seen it among other peoples' phones. The first series of 5500s had a redailing bug. I had one of the first ones release and fortunately did not have this problem.

any phone is going to have certain issues. i have yet to find one that does not. as a sprint rep and lontime owner of sanyo phones(6200,4900,8100,5500,5600) they are the best out there in my opinion.

perhaps they are cheap to you but i will disagree. i had an 8100 that lasted about three years before i upgraded and that thing would take abuse like a champ, it even survived my daughter "placing" it in a full glass of water while powered on. and thus far my 5600 has put up with multiple drops and much abuse, i believe sanyo makes some of the sturdiest phones out there.

I have had much the same experience with my 8100. The battery life I never understood what everyone complains about, other than the meter is all jacked up. It lasts forever on 3 bars and once it hits 2 and one it goes to battery low and lasts forever again. I've hit mine with the claw end of a hammer on the outside LCD (accidently of course and not a full swing) and the screen still works. It has a crack through the middle of it but it works none-the-less. My hinge has not gone bad and I'm working on 2.5 years with this old beat up phone. My girlfriend has had a samsung for not quite a year and a half and her outside screen crapped out on her a couple weeks ago. Bluetooth be damned. If the rest of the phone doesn't work what's the po...

Charging pins will break on any phone if you misuse them. They don't break by themselves. When you are moving them around while on the charger is when they break. Don't do that and they won't break.
