"Resetting and Locking You Phone through SMS"
When your phone is lost or stolen, you can erase your personal information (such as phone book entries, call history, and messages) and lock your phone by sending a special formatted SMS message to your phone.
Send the following format from your computer:
\\RESET**** RESET
- Your defined passcode. Default passcode is 11-digit ESN (Electronic Serial Number)which is written on the package or on the phone itself under the battery.
The locked phone will display the following message:
"If Found, please call PCS Customer Solutions 1-888-211-4727."
For this to work you first need to enable the "Found Me" option on your phone.
Follow these steps:
from the Standby mode press "Menu/Ok" To display the main menu, highlight "Settings" and press "Menu/Ok", Then highlight "Security" and press "Menu/Ok" Enter you lock code when prompted (default is last 4 of the phone number), next highlight "Security Setting" and press "Menu/Ok", Highlight "Found Me" and press "Menu/Ok", Next Highlight "Reset/Lock" and press "Menu/Ok" Finaly Select "Enable" and press "Menu/Ok".
To unlock a phone that has been locked through SMS, bring the phone to a Sprint PCS retail store.
