What ??? Sanyo MM-5600.......Discontinued????

Why is it that the people at Sprint told me that this 5600 phone that cost me about $549.00 on April 1st, is being discontinued? I am so disappointed!!! I plan on selling my phone for about $200.00 (or a little less) Does anybody know why this phone is being discontinued already? It just came out around the end of March, I bought it on April 1st. What phone is supposed to replace it, or will it be replaced by another model?
