I'm not sure about the Best Buy plan, but with Sprint's insurance (through Lock\line) you pay $5/mo and $50 deductible if ANYTHING happens to your phone. It covers lost/stolen/accidently damged phones and extends the regular 1 year defect warranty as long as you pay the $5/mo ($10 replacement fee for defects past the one year). Hope this helps!

I would say get the Sprint Insurance honestly, but I am curious as to what the plan Best Buy is offering???

Cause I got my 5600 from Radio Shack and they offered me their Insurance plan but it's crap cause it doesn't cover if the phone is lost or stolen..

How can you say it's crap? For $60 you have your phone covered should anything happen to it, like the charging port going bad which we all know has been a big issue with Sanyo's here of late, especially the 5500. Plus it covers any accessories and gives you a replacement battery every year. The battery alone is $70, so you just saved $10 by getting the service plan. I have saved well over $200 on mine so far having replaced the battery once, car charger once, leather case twice and the headset twice.

And fwiw, Best Buys PSP doesn't cover loss or theft either.

With Sprint it is $5/mo and $50 deductible for ANY loss... As far as the charging port, you can get a free data port charger at the Sprint store if it is under warranty or TEP (insurance/extended warranty). Pretty cool about the replacement battery though some Sprint stores (*cough* MINE *cough*) will swap a battery for a customer out of warranty even, as a courtesy...

insurance through lockline is by far the way to go if you're not careful with your phone. One thing to note though, you can only use it to replace your phone 2 times a year, after that you're too much of a liability and they will drop you. Obvously I would only recommend any insurance on expensive phones. As a Sprint RSS I can say that we are pretty generous with warrenty issues.
