If you were thinking of buying the sanyo 5600, should we wait for the snayo 9000. So we can get a phone for ev-do.

it really depends on how long you want to have the phone for. the way new phones role out you could buy the 5600 and by the time sprint finally roles out the 9000 you may be eligable for the upgrade program agin.

one very importat thing to rember. the 9000 will most likely be one of the first ev-do phones. what that means is that it will be full of all sorts of bugs just because it has never been done before for sprint. my advice wait atleast 6 months before the ev-do handsets role out. rule of thumb you never want the first production run of any handset model.

i have not heard a date on it yet.

but hear is my guess. they will probubly want to get it out quarter 4. however any one in this industry knows what quater 4 really means quarter 2 if they are lucky.

this is a new phone for a network that does not exist yet. i would recomend not holding your breath for this one.

This phone will def roll out 4th quarter. Especially since IT WILL be the first ev-do phone. Ev-do has already been rolled out in a few large cities and the MM-9000 is being used as the test phone in most markets. Oh and by the way don't worry about bugs in the phone, when was the last sanyo phone that has been a POS? Some might say the 5600 is a POS well i own it, and it is an awesome phone. Besides if there are software issues you can always stop up at the sprint store for the software upgrade.

ev-do is the evolution of wireless technology data only.

in english it is a faster data protocall for mobile phones.it will give enhanced data speeds. peek speeds of 2.4 mb per second and real world average of any where from 400-700 kb/sed

in laymans terms the internet on your phone will be roughly 20 times faster then what it is now. the actual speeds will be abot the same as most cable internet connections
