Those particular Sanyo models are unique to the carrier, meaning they are only compatible on Sprint's network. Phones are locked into each carrier to prevent people from doing exactly that, using their phone on another carrier's network. You can try contacting a Verizon store and asking them to flash the phone for Verizon, but it will probably be in vain. Good luck.
