How to fix annoying Verizon blinker: CDM8600

Menu > Settings > System > NAM Set > Auto NAM > Set to yes (6-4-3-1-yes).

This works only as long as your phone is on, once you power off then on again, the setting is lost. Setting this to "Auto NAM" should not have any side effects.

For those who don't know what NAM is:

Number Assignment Module. The NAM is the electronic memory in the wireless phone that stores the telephone number and an electronic serial number.

If You are on an America's Choice Plan, there is nothing you can do, that banner is Network based, and depending on each tower, Verizon Wireless will either be on/off. Even if you change your banner to read something else, it will still flip back and forth to your banner selection and "Verizon Wireless". The only way it can totally disappear is if the banner is not loaded into the current PRL. Dial *22890 to update your phone, depending on the PRL du joir, it may disappear.

Not completely true.

There is a way to remove the annoying VZW banners from any phone that can be hooked up to a computer via a data cable. The program can be found with an on-line search. Doing this VOIDS YOUR ...
