Audiovox VX6600 Phone Volume Defective

I just got off the phone for a second time with the tech people at Audiovox and they don't have a clue as to how to fix the problem. Since the phone was introduced, many people have been complaining about the volume of the ringer
(so low that you can't even hear it) and the volume of the built-in earpiece (so low that you can barely carry on a conversation.) Audiovox initially posted on their web site a "fix" to the volume problem. I went ahead and
backed up my PDA, downloaded the software, installing the new software, and then restored the backed up data, (more than an hour). After all that, there was no noticable change in either ringer volume or earpiece volume.

I am going back to Verizon tomorrow (I would go today, but I have ...

Is it possible when you restored your backup file, you overwrote the "fix"?

I don't think so. Audiovox sent me out a step byb step instruction sheet telling how to do the procedure. I followed it to the letter. I returned the VX6600 the very next day.

I also noticed that no matter what you set the PDA or Phone volume level at with the volume controls from the speaker icon on the top menu bar, the actual ringer sound...

I agree with you that the Audiovox Phone could be great but even with a Bluetooth headset, I was not able to hear voices loud enough to make the phone work. I returned my phone and have gone on looking for the "Perfect PHone."

Thanks for your reply.

Absolutely hate this phone. Paid $600.00 for this phone when it came out. Piece of crap. Had to go and get another new phone, an LG which we should have just gotten in the first place and now the piece of crap just sits around.
Another year left on our contract. I noticed Verizon doesn't sell it anymore. Don't buy it, you will be sorry. mary
