Motorola and Verizon

by mobilemadness    Mar 24, 2013, 2:37 AM

Anyone wonder why Motorola has been exclusive to Verizon as of the past 18 months or so? Sure they make one or two phones for a couple of other carriers, but pretty much 95% of their phones go exclusively to Verizon.

Not sure why Google/Moto would want to limit their distribution channel to only one carrier. I would have figured they would focus more on AT&T and T-Mo making GSM phones since they could sell them to the rest of the world easier, but it's not the case. I would think they would want to get Moto to all the major carriers since that would be more sales for them.

I haven't figured out any good reason why Google would be working exclusively with Verizon, but I'm thinking Motorola was better off before Google took them over and axed all those jobs and cut their distribution down to one carrier for the most part.
