How to lock the touch on a Moto V9

I was wondering if anyone could help me with this. I had someone come in who says when they got their V9 a few months ago the touch screen front was disabled. Their kid messed around with it and now the touch is active. I could not figure out how to lock this up so it does not work at all. Can anyone help with this? Thanks.

If you look at the left side of the phone there is one large button then below that there is a single one. If you hold the single one down for a couple of seconds it should give you a message on the display of the phone. It should say that the "external buttons are now locked/unlocked". When I unlock the buttons I do it while the phone is closed. This is how my phone is with USCC. Let me know how it works.
