Motorola W755 sending ringtones - How on Verizon

Using Verizon...

Perhaps someone can help me. I used to have an LG phone and used BITPIM and to send pics, ringtones (renamed as Mid and hertz and BPS changed so it would work)....and it worked well...

Now I have a Motorola W755 and have read that BITPIM will not work with the phone due to VZW locking out certain subdirectories.

I then read you can use perhaps Phone Tools or P2kCommander and another tool to transfer ringtones--this is much to cumbersome for me.

Here is what I tried so far (dat cable on order but doubt it will help much since BITPIM will not work with it I am told)

1. I tried sending an mp3 or mp3 renamed as mid to the phone as a text message to [email]phone@v...

Correction to above-#2 Could save sound sent to phone as a ringtone. I picked phone model W490 at Pohnezoo since W755 is not listed. Perhaps others work as well.

#1 never let me do a Save or Set a ringtone.

****Still looking for other options-simple, perhaps with data cable and 1 piece of software (not 2 or 3).

****Also hhow do I backup the phone contacts and other info like oyu can in BitPIM, perhaps Phonetools but I hate to spend the omoney on that...

Thanks

I was trying the samething with the P2Kommander and Bitpim they both dont work with my phone.. What i do is get a ringtone that is 29 or 30 seconds long save it and then send it to my phone. I sign in to my Verizon account and minimize it then i go to my email i type in 1235551212@vzwpix.com which is ur cell number go to attach find the ringtone u want click on it and then send it. Some ringtones i send myself save as a ringtone and others for some reason save as a sound...

Hope this helps u out

Phonezoo does work with that phone. I use it all the time. If you have a diff file ext on the sound, try sending it as a pic message to ur email, then back to ur phone. That usually works for me, when the phone is not freezing up that is lol. And myxertones mostly quit with verizon phones for some reason. Try phonezoo. U can even make ur own ringtones from music files on ur computer. Hope that helps.
