I was looking at the specs for the Moto v600 and v400 in the phone section....I was under the impression that both these phones used the exact same displays....but you state that the v600 uses a transflective TFT while the v400 uses a transmissive TFT...what is the difference in these 2 displays...I have been reading on the net some people saying that the display used on the v400/500 is brighter with nicer colors than the display used on the v600...

I had to research this too. Transmissive means all the lighting is coming from the backlight IE the display is powered completely by the phone itself. Transflective means part of the display is powered by the backlight and the other part thru outside light reflection. In simple terms light passes thru the front of the display and reflects off the back adding to the light from the phone.
The good thing about transmissive displays is that they are brighter and seen easier in bright sunlight. The bad thing is they suck up a lot of battery juice powering the display. Hence the V600 has longer battery life then the V400, but the display on the V400 would be brighter.
