Motorola

My wife received a text message last night around 1:00am. When I asked who was texting her at this time, she said it was a friend of hers. She showed me the text message, which was stamped 6:45pm earlier tha afternoon. She said that the text message had just arrived on her phone, which is a Motorola V3 Razr. When you pull up the message in the Inbox, it shows the message, the person its from, the date, and the time. Now heres my question: Does the time on the phone indicate when the text message was SENT from the other person, or...does it indicate when the text ARRIVED on my wife's phone. Please let me know.
