Ive been reading the reviews on this phone, is it really that bad. hows the reception and loudness of ringtones?

I had this phone with US Cellular. Phone is not bad. Ring tones are loud and the reception is better than most phones.

would the battery last a 3 year term contract? Id basically just be using it for calls mostly.

Absolutley NOT.

Batteries typically only last 18-24 months. Depends on your charging habits mostly. Charge ONLY when it NEEDS it and use the wall charger as often as possible.

I also went with the extended battery for the KRZR for mine as I talk 3-5K minutes a month and over 1K texts/mo. The standard battery wouldn't last a day under those conditions. I can get you the extended battery at a good price should you decide to go that route.

im not much of a texter or a talker, i live in a rural part of canada, and needing a phone for security reasons with good reception

all our cell phone companies are offering is 3 year contracts. I guess they make their money thru extended batteries.
