Believe it or not, all you have to do is call T-mobile and ask for the Sims unlock code...then wait a few days. They'll either SMS you, or preferably, you call back, have them walk you through the steps with the unlock code and you're done.
Before you can, have your IMEI and phone model to give them. IMEI is in the back, where the sims chip is held, or next to battery bay.
AT&T will absolutely refuse to do this, not sure about cingular (might have to be long time customer and not a new one).
If all else fails, try this site .. UnlockMe.co.uk.....but they charge.
