May 22, 2004, 8:17 PM
OK way back in 1998-1999 the 5165 was the phone to have! but uh i kinda have to say that i am soo sick and tired of EVERY nokia phone having the same exact menue options and the same fonts used in all of there phones!! if you have played with one nokia you have played with them all! thats my feelings about nokia... sorry if i upset anyone but i felt that it needed to be said... let me know if anyone eles feels this way!

Thanks
Jake

Yeah but that makes it easy for anyone who has used a nokia to pick it up and run with it. why mess up a good thing? the easiest is still the best, and those familiar menues always bring up the latest technology. the newer symbian stuff is a little different, but also familiar to nokia users. they have taken up the same philosophy on OS's that Microsoft has: DON'T $%^& it up, just make it better. THAT BEING SAID... i DO understand some people's need to mix it up and have different things.

I think that's the main reason why Nokia is number one. Motorola's pretty much have the same or similar menu styles on all of their phones but are way too complicated for a novice or someone just wanting a basic phone. SE have been using really complicated menu styles that are always different, until recently, and that makes it difficult for users to evn think about trying a different phone other than their Nokia. Samsung is the same way. So when you go with a Nokia then you know that you won't have to read to much into a manual and that you can use it pretty much like your old Nokia or a buddy's Nokia, etc. They're easy and universal and customer's who already have Nokia will probably continue to stay with them because of that.

Yeah, I hate McDonalds for that same reason. Why serve the same thing in every location? That's just dumb!! I want to be completely confused and have to learn a whole new menu every time I go into a different restaurant. Please!

I guess the use of a metaphor combined with a little sarcasm is too much for your tiny head to grasp.

lol good one dburris. i understood it. not like some fat retard... anyway I'm saying that nokia is one of the best because anybody in the world can use it, its so easy to learn, even if you don't know how to send email and blue tooth connection a smart first time user could pick up how to do it in a second. and i change nokia phones like every 2 months from like a 3565, 6610 series 40 then to a series 60 and it was so easy to use and the menus and everything all the technology into it is easy to see read and do, not like some manufactures, ........ moto.rola. 🙄

Hey man... I think you are going to be hard pressed to find people who agree with you about your dislike for nokia. nokia is the most popular for a reason. you may like another company better, but you are in the minority. don't get peeved just because no one agrees with you. 😁 have a nice day.

Nokia rocks. They have the best phones, maybe not the most exciting, but great battery life. The menus are so easy. When someone comes in with an old Nokia like 6160, 5165, etc, it is so easy to sell them a new Nokia because they are comfortable with it. Not to mention the fact that they have comped me a trip to the Sugar Bowl for the last 3 years, so maybe I am not the fairest judge. did I mention Nokia PC suite. The easiest thing to use.

Since you seem to have an excellent relationship with Nokia, perhaps you can answer this question accurately.

Any chance VZW will be adding Nokia phones anytime in the near future, Operationally the 3589i is fantastic. In the mountains in Maine and my 3589i picked up the digital VZW signal and received and held calls. My son's Moto T730 on the same VZW system, continued to "search for service." As you can see, the phome does matter.

I heard they were going to add either the 6010/11/19 or hopefully the 6225. Any clue ?

How'd you like the Sugar Bowl. Go Tigers !!

Uck. LSU will not do nearly as well this season - lots of problems that haven't hit the news. I live about 40 minutes away from Baton Rouge, and we have a MAJOR university here, but you'd never know it from all the bandwagon-jumpers in town. I'm sure half of them didn't graduate high school, much less actually GO to LSU...

A good friend of mine has a theory that after the Tigers lose on Saturday night, there's a 50% increase in domestic violence complaints in Baton Rouge & the surrounding areas...

I dont care who wins. I go for the game and a lot of chaos. Thye put me up at the Ritz Carlton last trip. Sat in a luxury skybox for the game munching jumbo shrimp and sipping free booze. Not to mention Jessica Simpson came by the box to say hello. She was in town promoting that stupid show, she sang the National Anthem, and her handlers brought her to a few of the boxes to meet and greet. I have a pic with her, like 12 other people and me. Pretty funny.

As for the CDMA side of the ? I am not sure the guys I know and work with all rep the TDMA and GSM stuff. Can look around and see, will post any updates.

Supposedly, Verizon will be adding the 6255i sometime next year... I hear Sprint will be adding it first though, possibly in Jan. 2005?

I hope it is sooner than that, as I don't think I can wait that long. I would like to buy a Nokia but the 6255i is the *only* phone Nokia sells that meets my needs (clamshell with external display, bluetooth, voice dialing).

C'mon Nokia, hurry up already!
