LG VX 8360 problem with broadband connect

Confused
I have a problem using the broadband connect on this phone. I have been in to the Verizon store and they were great, spending 2 hours trying to help me. They upgraded the software in the phone also. Still the broadband connect does not work.

Any thoughts? Why should this stop working, the phone is not that old? I need this to tether to my laptop.
