How do you unlock a VX6000? I have a bunch of VX6000's on U.S. Cellular's network and a ton of people who want to use on Verizon's network but even if you program the phone with Verizon's sid it of course wants to switch back to U.S. Cellular hence the need for unlocking them. Please help anyone!!

Ignorance to a subject shouldn't be a reason to allow a response. Go learn more and then when you're all grown up please feel free to butt your 2 sense in. Thanks again for your candor!

It seems that the only people who know how to do that is the service providers. They have the unlock codes, however I bet you would be hard pressed to find one who will admit they know much less give you the code. It is not illegal.
I think you unlock it somewhere in the manual programming menu

Much appreciated response. It's good to see not all people viewing these forums are imbusils like that last reply i got. "Isn't that illegal" what a dip!!

The actual issue is more a FIRMWARE related problem. LG install carriers FIRMWARE which ultimately eliminates another carrier from upgrading the phone to their version of Firmware. So i guess the term "unlocking" is not the appropriate word to use. The real issue is how can I unflash u.s. cellular firmware then reflash verizon firmware. A very interesting topic that most haven't found the answer too. I think the only people who would have an answer would be an LG technician. ANY LG TECH's OUT THERE WANNA HELP OUT?

Hey thanks again.

Ive not nlocked a phone myself. However, i believe you can find a hak program on the internet and use a USB connection kit to access the phone and "unflash" it.
