When the Rumor first came out, the software (v04) had a glitch that wasn't fixed in development. Software versions v05 and v06 have come out since and fixed the original issue, but after v05 I started noticing more people with issues like what you described.

Given that, my own thoughts are that it is related to the v05 and v06 software and it's a matter of waiting for the next software version to correct it, hopefully.
