I am also a new 6100 owner - got it yesterday. To answer your questions:

1. The "volume bug" refers to a problem that happens in the first few seconds of an incoming call. The earpiece volume is extremely low, then it comes up to normal. Mine has it, but it is not a huge deal.

2. The only firmware released for the 6100 so far is T61VZV01.

3. I have read in the last few days that LG has just released a firmware update to VZW, who is now testing it before releasing it to the public. They said that this update would fix the volume bug. 😳 🙄 The new software is out and it does help. It actually stops many different problems. It is a must get. But beware.....it takes about 40 minutes to load. Good luck! 🙄 🤣

I have two LG 6100s. Both of which I brought into a Verizon store to do the firmware update.
My phonebooks were both fine, but here's the weird thing.

For one of my phones, the picture I took an set as wallpaper was still there after the update.

Can anybody tell me if the update for the phone that still had the wallpaper went ok? I was told by the technicians that for sure any images/pictures would be lost, so I find it odd that it didnt.
