VX8000 and 22 other models

I work at Verizon Wireless and I can assure all of you that the VX8000 will be released very soon, before X-mas. I am currently carrying the 8000 (beta test model) and I promise you are all going to LOVE it! VZW plans on launching 23 new phones before Christmas, I imagine the phones will start rolling in this week and continue weekly. 😎

Nice...what are the other 22 phones besides the VX8000? Any other EVDO phones? This is great news to hear it will be out before c-mas.

Also, how is the video and Mp3 on the 8000? Maybe could you post a video taken from the VX8000.

Thanks

What I really want is the VX7000 but with speaker and tri-mode (which I thought would be the VX8000?). The VX8000 has a speaker, but doesn't look like it's a tri-mode phone. Can you confirm this? If it isn't, is there another VX7000-like or VX8000-like phone due out soon that WILL be tri-mode? I've definitely traveled to analog-only areas. I'd hate to be in that position and not have any service at all.

Thanks for any help!

The VX8000 will not be tri-mode. The EV-DO capabilities should make up for that. As many have said in recent posts, analog may be phased out. Now for some people it is necessary. There are always other phones out there that are trimode.

Hope this helps!

The lack of analog will NOT be compensated by having EV-DO, since EV-DO is also digital and is only for data, not voice.

For users in analog-only areas, an all-digital phone is nothing but an expensive brick.

Just my opinion, but you may want to check out the VX6100. It has speakerphone and tri-mode. I've seen one but can't buy it yet due to
contract restrictions.

Thanks for the replies so far. I was ready to buy the VX6100. I almost wish I hadn't seen the VX7000 because the resolution is so much better on that phone compared to the VX6100. And the guy who sits next to me just bought a 7000 - just to add insult to injury. 🤣 I think I'll try to wait a bit longer to see if the VX8000 or something similar comes out. I may have to abandon the hope of tri-mode with a phone that I want. But as someone else said, I really didn't want to end up with that "expensive brick" driving through the analog-only areas. The tri-mode has definitely saved me on more than one occasion.

Decisions, decisions....
