LG CDMA FWT (wireless terminal) - Performance issues

Hi,

I have with me an LG's FWT (wireless terminal / wireless phone), model number SP-345 from an ISP. The ISP has also provided a datacable (RJ45 to Serial Port) and a dialer software. My major use of this device is for internet connectivity.

Though the ISP claims 115 Kbps speeds, I have seldom observed that to be the case, except for a few, fleeting moments, when its my extremely lucky day. Most of the time, I manage to scrape by with 0 -> 8 -> 16 -> 8 -> 0 Kbps speeds.

I am using an XP Pro on my machine, with a Celeron 700 / 128 Mb config. I was wondering whether any tweaking at my level with either the dialer software configuration, or the settings on the phone itself, might help?

The ISP's boys installed an external antenna...
