Sorry can't be changed, part of the firmware operating system of the phone. Its so you can find your phone when its ringing in a dark room.

Not true - if you have the updated the phone's firmware which was released earlier this month, you can disable the lights.

Once you have updated SW version # T81VZV04, you can go to:

Main Menu>Settings and Tools>Display>Status Light>Off

and it will turn them off

I recently bought an 8100 with the Verizon-disabled mp3 player.. I've had the mp3 player activated but can't seem to find headphones that work.. I tried several headphones, most recently bought 2.5mm stereo headphones (based on the specs of the Lg8100). so the 2.5mm headphones fit in the jack, but only play in the right ear!?!?

Anyone know what headphones to use for stereo sound in the 8100 mp3 player?

I just bought the LGVX8100 2 days ago and am excited about playing MP3s. When you say, 'Verizon-disabled' mp3 player, what do you mean? Is there something they have to do to enable it?

Thanks!

I purchased the 8100 before the mp3 was ever activated; flashed it, it worked fine.
Later then flashed with Vers. 7, this sets it to play only .wma files. After this (or starting from) open the menu, press 0
password is "000000" and set it to enable .mp3
also can now go to menu-> tools->
Shortcut key-> and set the play MP3 on the outside keys

How about putting some tape over the lights? I think the lights are cool but if they are bothering you, tape over them. By-the-way, I love my 8100.
