Will the vx7000 be discontinued to make way for the 8000? If so how much longer will VZW carry the 7000. I need to know because I want to know if I should pay retail for the 7000.

If your going to pay retail...you should pay retail for the 8000. That's a no brainer. And as with all phones, this model will be phased out. Not sure how long till it is...

The tihng is that I think that the 8000 is ugly and I have been waiting for this phone since it came out. One of my things is looks. I care about the way it works and so forth but looks play a big role in if I will buy a phone.

The vx7000blk is a great phone. I have one myself. One thing i would consider checking up on is when you qualify for an upgrade; cause then you would pay significanly less than retail price granted you extend your contract 1-2 years. If upgrading, you will also receive up to $100 credit. At radio shack stores right now, the phone goes for $149.99 with a $50 mail in rebate. So the phone ends up being $99.99 (prices are for 2 year extention/activation). With the Verizon $100 credit, the 7000 will essentially be free after rebates. If you are patient, wait a few more months where the prices will drop alot more. Try doing a comparison between the 7000 and the 8000 to see which specs would best fit you.

What I really want to know is if this phone will be available march 16 because that is the day that I can my phone upgraded. and as i said before i have been waiting for this phone since it came out.

i was thinking myself upgrading to the vx 8000,and if i do i will be selling my vx7000,if interested in buying a used vx7000,only 16hrs on it i will sell it.it's in excellent condition,can email pics of it if you'd like....make an offer...email me at scottkpoloco@yahoo.com if interested.....just a sugestion,i live in ny and they still sell the 7000,$99.00 for two yrs with 100 dollar credit it's free!!!! or a used one with no contract....
