Any rumors of coming vzw full feature phones?

I really like my Samsung A310 (even if the ring tones do stink). It is a bit outdated and I'm up for NE2. The V710 looks interesting but not sure I want Moto.

The A770 looked interesting UNTIL I realized it was not trimode 😕 (I live in rural area and need analog roam) and it has no PC Sync. 😢 I don't care about the BT but the trimode and PC Sync ARE very important to me.

Samsung has few new VZW phones announced which makes me wonder if there could be anything coming worth waiting for or if I should give the V710 a closer look.

I like the A650, but it has no external CID. The predictive text input works really well, not as good as the last release Moto did, but way better than the Kyocera PITA. I'm pretty sure it doesn't have PC Sync. The V710 is OK. It seems to work all right, so far. The screens are nice & well-lit. It has a nice handfeel.

If you want good upcoming VZW phones, look to the Kyocera Koi & the LG VX8000, hopefully in time for the Christmas season, but I doubt it.

Thanks for your feedback.

I just pulled the Koi page. I have never had a Kyocera but this phone looks interesting. Unfortunately, it does not have PC Sync and the speaker is only half duplex. Lastly, It may or may not be out by the end of the year.

I guess I posted here in the hopes of newer Samsungs on VZW. I pulled the phonescoop new phones page and at least 9 of 10 are GSM. Of the few newer VZW phones, many are digi only and I need the trimode.

V710 seems to have the combo of features that I am interested in (and of course a few that I don't care about). I am just a bit intimidated by the negative feedback that is posted, especially the most recent pointing to a high return rate. Combine that with the cost of accessories (...

I think the high rate of return is due to a couple of things: one, it's more phone than Joe & Jane Cellphoneuser need. Two, the VZW reps (at least the ones in the Houston region) are pushing this phone HARD, possibly causing some buyer's remorse. Three, it was sold by Radio Smack for a week before VZW had it, and the ones they sold had an old firmware version that caused some BT & RF problems.

I think it's a badass phone, but it's still more phone than I personally need. If I win one in one of VZWs myriad internal contests, I'll take it, but I won't be dropping my hard-earned cash on it. I'd rather a Treo 600, truth be told.

The problem with trimode is, as time goes on, VZW will be releasing fewer & fewer trimode handsets, until event...

I recommend staying away from the Motorola. With a little luck the 710 could be a decent phone - but I doubt it. Motorola has been making some of the worst CDMA phones after the StarTAC and Timeport 270. They have a horrible charging system, terrible menu, and a very poor design on this phone especially. Go into a store and take a look at one - take off the back cover and look at the volume keys on the side and the battery - then you can see for yourself the poor design. Motorola at one time made the best phones - by far - but now they are mostly crap. They have already fallen into second place behind Nokia and are about to slip into third behind Samsung - that should tell you something right there.
