Software for samsung a610
The samsung a610 is a good phone but the support from samsung is almost non-existent. I had to go on ebay to buy a usb data cable so I don't have to pay the blackmail to verizon to upload photos to my computer. However, the cable came without software and not only does samsung not provide software downloads for the a610 but they won't even answer my email addressing this issue. Does anyone know where I can get the software? The a610 is not a cheap phone but samsung acts like this is some kind of low-end purchase that they don't want to be involved with. Someone should clue them in that this is expense phone that requires better support and service for their customers.

My understanding is - no such software. That's one way Verizon makes more money after you purchase their fancy camera phone...

I found a cable and drivers for samsung sch-a610 at www.supplynetwireless.com for $20
That included shiping got it on tuesday ordered it on sunday.

i believe what you got for $20 is "data cable" and "modem driver", which you can use your phone as a modem to connect to internet... not the thing that can get your photo from your phone

I also bought my cable for the sch-a610 off ebay and the only software I could get to work is datapilot. I download midi files off the net for free, then I edit them into a 25k file size with anvil then I use datapilot to upload them to my phone. With datapilot, you can also transfer pics from your phone to your pc and manage your phone book. 25k midi files is the largest file size the a 610 will let you use for a ringtone. a 25k file is about 1 minute and 15 secs worth of a song. if you want more info, email me at danshea1@hotmail.com. later
